MoveOn.org Pulls Petraeus Bash Ad from Web Site [Gutless Cowards Already on the Run!]

Dan has the scoop on this. The bottom line here is when John F'ing Kerry says you've gone too far, you done gone too far Hoss. I checked the link Dan had and its deader than chairman Mao.

I seriously hope the MoveOn crowd remains tone deaf enough to continue this line of attack. It will be entertaining to see the dem candidates distancing themselves from MoveOn.org.

Update: the ad continues to be available via other avenues at the MoveOn web site.

MoveOn really screwed the pooch with this one though. Some of their bashing goes back prior to Petraeus' confirmation as commander -- which means senate democrats were aware of that before the confirmation vote. So in effect, MoveOn is bashing senate democrats "judgment" at the same time they bash Petraeus.

Kerry getting prickly is interesting too since he didn't actually vote to confirm Petraeus -- he was a no-show on that vote. It would have been easy for him to say "I didn't vote for the man" and have it be the truth. Then again, JK is one of the biggest no-show senators we got.

Whether they like it or not, all this has done is to reinforce the public view of MoveOn.org as an arm of the DNC, and that they don't just have "a different view" of things, but they like bashing the military and aren't just against the prosecution of the war but are against the war, period.

While the public polls show the majority of Americans polled are against the war, I think their attitude would change if they were shown how the war in Iraq is part of the larger WOT--something Bush has simply failed miserably at doing.

As bad as Sen. sKerry is, there is a lot of evidence that there are shreds of decency lying mostly dormant beneath the opporunism. All the while he attacked President Bush's policy on Iraq, he quietly admitted that a precipitous withdrawal would be disaster (and some libs hated him for it).

I don't mean to imply he's a good guy, but he's better than some, and I think that explains his action in this case. Unlike Hillary, for example, he does care somewhat about the future of the country, even if he's a bit misguided and selfish.

As much as he supposedly respects the WWII generation, it’s interesting that he didn’t take a few clues...such as commissioning a new “Why We Fight”

I don’t think that a WWF series would have done anything but attract more cries of “Propaganda!” from the media.

I hope MoveOn keeps it up. This kind of idiocy puts the Dems on the razor’s edge and I like to watch them sweat. They don’t want to be tied to Moveon on this, and yet, they don’t want to get on the wrong side of the Moveon morons.

You know it just kills them to have to posture and pretend they give a damn about our miltary and at the same time risk alienating the lunar chiropterans hanging out at the Soros cave.

There’s gonna’ be a whole lot of nuancin’ goin’ on out there.

"While the public polls show the majority of Americans polled are against the war..."

There you go again....despite continuous warnings and mountains of evidence here on FR that these polls are false you repeat this MSM propaganda?

Why is it that you can lead a dog to clean water but he will always prefer the toilet bowl?

This may be what you are referring to, but I saw no mention of MoveOn. Actually, if you can believe it, many of them are worse than Moveon. heh

Clinton, Edwards, and Obama refused to condemn the ad. And I don`t think Reid condemned it, either.

Oh please, the Pres has talked until blue in the face about Iraq, at some point the American people will have to think for themselves.

It is the MSM/DNC who have miserably failed to support their country in Iraq, and abetted our enemy on the ground.

As with Israel battles with the Islamic cults for the last 20 years, when media calls your every move occupation, oppression, torture, massacre, and accuses your leaders of corruption, lying, sinister behaviors, ect.

It works.

The MSM can ruin a reputation, lives and livelihoods, with impunity.

Reid answered a question from a presstitute yesterday as to whether ads like the Moveon one are helpful to the Dems. He said, no they are not helpful. See how that works? Get a friendly reporter to ask the question in the most innocuous way possible, then answer “no.” That’s as close to a condemnation as you will get from Dingy Harry.

As a conservative I'm against war. I think war is wasteful, both in lives, energy and resources. War should be avoided at all costs.

But... when war is unavoidable, as I think it is in the case of the war against islamic terrorism, war should be conducted as vigorously and expeditiously as possible, so we can get back to the business of doing business.

These "people" (nihilists) of the anti-war movement, are selfish, self-centered brats, possessing at the same time, self-loathing pseudo-intellect that seeks projects its love affair with spiritual darkness onto the rest of us.

Wow, you're both rude AND ignorant.

There isn't a single poll from any source of the general public showing majority support for the war. Your childish denial of the war's unpopularity won't wish it otherwise (the last election was just a sign of support for the war, I guess).

Wow..your ability to twist the truth is even greater than the Dems. The truth is America does not support losing in Iraq. It's the Dems who twist that to mean that Americans don't support the war at all.

Go ahead and drink the MSM koolaid, just be forewarned that the blue color you see might be a sign that the tidy-bowl man has "cleaned" your information up.

Great post, really contributes to the discussion--zero facts, only your bizarre drunken perspective on reality. Well done!
