Three members of the former Iraqi regime under Saddam Hussein -- including the man known as "Chemical Ali" -- will be executed within 30 days, senior appellate Judge Munir Haddad said Tuesday.
The appellate chamber upheld their sentences of death by hanging, which were imposed in June.
The three defendants are Hussein's first cousin, Ali Hassan al-Majeed, nicknamed "Chemical Ali;" Sultan Hashem Ahmed, military commander of the Anfal campaign; and Hussein Rashid Mohammed, deputy general commander of the Iraqi armed force, assistant chief of staff for military operations, and former Republican Guard commander.

Get a rope.
Well, there’s one bright spot in my morning!
“...within 30 days...”
***
My guess is that the hangings will take place much sooner than 30 days. Fortunately, this is not Pennsylvania where the scumbags get to sit on death row for the rest of their natural lives.
Bravo for an excellent decision!
Hang’em high ! I remember the day that Sadaam was hung until he was dead ! I will not forget that day !
John Murtha is deeply saddened.
A lot more of this type justice needs to be served.
This news goes quite well with my morning coffee.
Cell phone film at 11:00.
How about using the Iranian technique.....have the noose hanging from a crane, make the guy climb a 5ft step ladder and then kick the ladder out from under him.
Hope they show a non-stop video loop in Ali’s cell of Saddam being hung right up until they come to take him away.
*chuckle*
Or -
The other technique is to use the crane to just lift the person off the ground with the noose around their neck. That of course strangles and suffocates the person rather than breaking their neck, and takes longer to die.
Swing, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, SWING!
they should gas him with a blistering agent first and if he lives, then hang him.
The rope is on the other neck now..........
Fantastic.
Under Iraqi law, the government must carry out the executions within 30 days after the appeals process has been exhausted.
Al-Majeed earned his nickname for atrocities committed in the Anfal campaign during the 1980-88 Iraq-Iran war. In the scorched earth attacks, poisonous gas and chemicals were used against the Kurds.
What CNN is not saying is that Chemical Ali was convicted of USING WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION! Duh!
Note: Chemical Ali is the spitting image of Saddam himself!
That’s really what they ought to do. For one thing, the free drop ruins the rope so you can’t use it again. Why spend all that money?
