My guess is that the hangings will take place much sooner than 30 days. Fortunately, this is not Pennsylvania where the scumbags get to sit on death row for the rest of their natural lives.
Bravo for an excellent decision!

How about using the Iranian technique.....have the noose hanging from a crane, make the guy climb a 5ft step ladder and then kick the ladder out from under him.

Hope they show a non-stop video loop in Ali’s cell of Saddam being hung right up until they come to take him away.

They were found guilty of a variety of charges, including genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. Under Iraqi law, the government must carry out the executions within 30 days after the appeals process has been exhausted.
Al-Majeed earned his nickname for atrocities committed in the Anfal campaign during the 1980-88 Iraq-Iran war. In the scorched earth attacks, poisonous gas and chemicals were used against the Kurds.
What CNN is not saying is that Chemical Ali was convicted of USING WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION! Duh!

These events send significant messages to those who may be, at this very moment, carrying out the sadistic orders of the region's tyrannical despots. They have to be thinking "what if the one who is giving the orders now is overthrown, isn't this precisely what will happen to me?"
It is hard not to see great psychological value in these hangings, not only for the sense of justice engendered in the Iraqi populace (OK, mainly Shia) but also as a deterrent to other despotic urges in the region.

I understand that an emergency appeal has been filed with Texas governor Perry. He sympathizes with innocent abettors of crimes as he recently demonstrated.
