Even better find a copy of the first debate and you will hear it from his own mouth with no spin

I personally dismiss them because I saw the tactics of Paul supporters at my own GOP straw poll, where they bussed in people from out of the county.

That Paul fellar raked in $102,000 at a fundraiser in Dallas Fri night so all in all he didn’t do that bad this weekend. I’m surprised he finish as high as 3rd place with the criteria that was set for voting delegates.....

Some of the Paulette delegates are crying foul....... link here:

I find it just awful that the rules for Ron Paul were more restrictive than the other candidates.

Don’t ever believe aNY OF THE CRAP you read
about elections, when Clintons are involved...they are
very tricky and operate without any ethics, or concern
for why they put some hurt on anyone in their way..
in other words..they, and their cutthroat advisors, will
do anything, say anything, kill anyhing in their way..and
they have a gullible, cooperating press to add to the
mix....don’t ever forget it????????????? JK

“...thanks to a biased article that only focused on a few nutjobs to portray the Paul campaign as a whole as driven by them.”

I attended the Iowa Straw Poll in Ames and that pretty much described the vast majority of his (most likely) out of state supporters. Attendees of the straw poll were accosted by Paul supporters all day long. I could hardly walk 25 feet without another Paul nutjob trying to shove another “fact sheet” on Paul. One kook spoke to our group, expounding on how he had just heard of Paul the week before and jumped on his bandwagon. Lot of thought put into that decision I’m sure. Another thing that I found off-putting was the music blaring from Ron Paul’s tent. We heard Darryl Worley’s “Have You Forgotten,” coming out of his tent. How ironic, since that song supports our troops and the fight that we have had to engage in, when Ron Paul blames America and opposes the war. So, yeah. I think we’re talking a LOT more than just a few nutjobs.

Sorry I was being sarcastic.
Paul said the rules were very restrictive and his supporters said the fix was in, so I said, “it was awful the rules were more restrictive for Paul than the other candidates”.

LOL........ Well I do that once in a while but wasn’t sure if that was what you were doing. The Paulettes are known to cry foul at steps along the way....

Ron Paul is a Libertarian. He would run so, if he could be elected. The late, great Russell Kirk wrote an outstanding essay as to why "libertarians" were not "conservatives." A summary of this lengthy essay can be found: HERE.

A brief quote from this summary is as follows:

Kirk sees libertarians as radical doctrinaires, contemptuous of tradition, culture and faith. Of society’s old traditions and prescriptions they would retain only private property. Libertarians also seek an abstract liberty that has never existed. Contrary to the unlimited liberty theory of economics, the American economy is complex and requires government to enforce contracts and so forth. Government, then, is an economic necessity. Complete freedom from government of any kind would result in complete chaos.

Our Constitution was conceived and written by an aristocratic body who “sought a more perfect union.” They knew, like Dostoevsky, that “unlimited freedom ends with unlimited despotism.” Kirk sees libertarians arguments as humorless, intolerant, self-righteous, badly schooled and dull. A specific quote is:

”..The libertarians are rejected because they are metaphysically mad.Lunacy repels and political lunacy especially. I do not mean they are dangerous; nay, they are repellant merely. They do not endanger our country and our civilization, because they are few, and seem likely to become fewer…

What Kirk means by “metaphysically mad” is that libertarians refuse to consider any question not answerable by direct observation or science; no religion, no prime mover, nothing of a spiritual nature. As such they are “mad” ignoring common human emotions and experience.

Is it any wonder believers reject libertarianism? Is it any mystery why Ron Paul does not sell to the masses?

Iowans traditionally don’t go for kooks. Now, Wisconsin has a long history of backing kooks on both sides of the political spectrum. I’d expect Ron Paul to do well there.

Most of us enjoy these threads for comic relief and you never disappoint. Have you decided who your going to support after he gets his 3%?

One thing you will never have to do is support a President.

"They made it very restrictive," Dr. Paul said at a rally Friday night. "But we're trying to build the party. If they want us to build the party, we can."

Exactly what party is he trying to build?

Ron Paul is a RINO but in a different way. He’s actually a Libertarian; he ran as such and didn’t rule out that he’d do it again. He waffled and said something about not having the resources. He’s not to be trusted. People who’d support him are looking for a Conservative Jimmy Carter. They are living a dream of returning to the days of 1930s isolationism, even if Ron Paul calls it noninterference or some other such gobbledygook claptrap. The man is very naive and willing to get in bed with some very odd ducks. By not disavowing them he collects their support. See www.outlawjournalism.com for instance. Plus, the skinheads, Nazis, Holocaust deniers, the 9/11 truthers, the Isolationists, Buchananites, Birchers, and a variety of other nuts and scoundrels all flock to this clown.
