Heard on Mark Levin’s show tonite that it is very unusual for the FBI to ask for help in finding anyone not charged with anything.

Washington State is so inept when it comes to preventing terrorism. It’s like they have this “hear no evil, see no evil but there is federal money to combat evil” syndrome.

We should be worried, our ferries are sitting ducks, very soft targets. Most likely these guys are from BC. Our Muslim community is very small, they would have been spotted by now if they were local.

I hope these terrorist clowns aren’t doing dry runs again.

I heard it was a bag of sparklers (fireworks). Not a big deal unless they were sitting on a 5 gallon bucket of thermite. Then it would be a very big deal.

Amen, I am a fire protection engineer, have designed onboard suppression systems and have contacted the FBI and our Highway Patrol, with my professional concerns. No response, I've written letters to the papers, no publication.
Heads in the sand. There is going to be trouble from the Jihadists.

Actually, the “suspicious package” they found turned out to be a bong.

Terminating a ferry is well within the capabilities of the jihadists, much simpler than thermite.

Thermite is pretty simple to make. Its just hard to ignite. Sparklers can do it. Once lit, it could easily burn through 2 decks and the hull of a loaded ferry.

Here is law enforcement's problem: The ferries, NY's also are embarrasingly soft targets. If law enforcement talks about the problem or publicly acknowledges the problem, or asks for help from civilians, or gets challenged by the press, they look weak ande unprepared.
Just like the FBI agent who noticed all the muslims taking flying lessons, she was ignored because FBI was too bureaucratized to think out of the box or recognize new threats.

The passengers and control systems are all above waterline, every vehicle has a gas tank, 90 minute ferry rides, through pea-soup dense fog, rough water, blowing wind, open car decks.
Paris Hilton could figure this one out.

I rode the ferry yesterday and they actually had the notice, with photos, posted on the wall. I didn't see any more than the usual security though, which I would call "medium". In the past I have seen Coast Guard boats shadowing the ferry, but not since last year I think.
I was on a mid-day ferry, which probably has less security than the busier rush-hour ones though.
To: Lijahsbubbe
They wouldn’t do it and have never done it before, they are scared.

OK, the jihadists watch TV, they are not going to send the same scouts. Besides, the jihadists probably have all the intel they need and have gone operational.

The Coast Guard can not shadow every run, and what could they effectively do in rough water, dense fog.

The Coast Guard can not shadow every run It is nice to see them there when they do, and I'm sure it makes the terrorists worry that they might be around. It's all fine by me.
To: Lijahsbubbe
The ferry I am most concerned about, I rode daily, many years ago. As I often sat in my car on the car deck, I looked over the suppression systems.
I have not taken a ferry since 9/11, I drive around.
