LOS ANGELES—An immigration activist who sought refuge inside a Chicago church for a year was arrested in Los Angeles this afternoon after taking her campaign on the road. Elvira Arellano was arrested about 4:15 p.m. Chicago time by law-enforcement officials after leaving Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in downtown Los Angeles, said Emma Lozano, an adviser who was there during the arrest. After talking to news media inside the church, Arellano and her supporters got into their van to head north to San Jose, where she was scheduled to speak at another church, Lozano said. Moments after they entered the van, an unmarked vehicle stopped them.

I’ve never understood the whole “you can’t be arrested for a crime if you’re standing inside a church” thing. If she was wanted for a crime and they knew where she was, why not serve the warrant and go in?
This criminal should have NO legal rights. We shall see how fast the aclu will stop her deportation.

Throw her out, along with her illegal “anchor” child. The 14th Amendment prohibits his citizenship. Let MALDEF sue, and bring it to the SCOTUS so we can finally get the proper rulling to end the outrageous misinterpretation of law that are “anchor babies”.

Harlem erupted in fury. When Sharpton and Jackson demanded to see the mayor, he refused to even let them meet the police commissioner. The "crisis" quickly ended, as it always does when one stands firm.
