A Lubbock man is dead after police say he was stabbed to death in a West Lubbock business. Police say the homicide happened around 6 Thursday night at Fred's Gun Emporium on Slide Rd. They say 66-year-old Wayne Knox and another person were arguing inside the business when the fight turned deadly. The unidentified person stabbed Knox once in the stomach and was transported to UMC where he later died. Police say they do have a person detained for questioning in this homicide, but no charges have been filed. They tell us the suspect and victim did know eachother, but a motive has not been established. Police say the victim worked off-and-on at the Emporium and he was good friends with the owner. We'll keep you updated as details come in.

Stabbing at gunshop proves fatal

Lubbock police are investigating a fatal stabbing at a local gun shop Thursday evening.
At about 5:45 p.m., a person was stabbed at Fred's Gun Emporium, 3003 Slide Road. The victim was taken to University Medical Center, where the person was pronounced dead, police said.
Authorities had not made any arrests and had yet to name a suspect in the stabbing.
Investigators were questioning at least one person at the police department late Thursday.
