Giuliani Opposes Palestinian State, Considers Destroying Iran Nuclear Facilities

WASHINGTON — Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani said he opposes creation of a Palestinian state at this time and would take a tough stand with Iran, including destroying its nuclear infrastructure "should all else fail."

"It is not in the interest of the United States, at a time when it is being threatened by Islamist terrorists, to assist the creation of another state that will support terrorism," the former New York mayor said.

"Palestinian statehood will have to be earned through sustained good governance, a clear commitment to fighting terrorism, and a willingness to live in peace with Israel," Giuliani said. "America's commitment to Israel's security is a permanent feature of our foreign policy."

Giuliani said in the article that he would not rule out negotiating with Iran, but such negotiations should proceed from "a position of strength."

Bush recently warned Iran of "consequences" if Iran is determined to be assisting the flow of explosive devices into Iraq.

There goes Rudy’s centrist support. Now he’s a hate mongering racist like the rest of us.

Yeah, but this will change when Guli gets a call from the Dubai Ports Islamo-Nazis threatening to cut off their deal with him for his stand on Palestine.

Not true. Giuliani returned a check to the Saudis after 911. Making him unique among politicians.

Rudy said this because it suited his audience. He'll give a different answer to a "palestinian" audience.

Nah....he still likes to kill babies.

Somewhere in the twilight zone you will find the Rudy "middle". When you figure out what zone of the zone (party) he is in let me know 'cause I sure don't have a clue.

I agree with him on this as well.

No way I’ll vote for him as President, but I do agree with these statements.

Is that a legit reason for you to say that or is that simply a statement displaying your dislike of the man?

Thanks for link:

“The purpose of this fight must be to defeat the terrorists and the insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan and to allow these countries to become members of the international system in good standing. We must be under no illusions that either Iraq or Afghanistan will quickly attain the levels of peace and security enjoyed in the developed world today. Our aim should be to help them build accountable, functioning governments that can serve the needs of their populations, reduce violence within their borders, and eliminate the export of terror. As violence decreases and security improves, more responsibility can and should be turned over to local security forces. But some U.S. forces will need to remain for some time in order to deter external threats.”
