I feel badly for folks like this. They may not deserve more

The collectivist premise is that the government creates and grants rights so people, and some people have different (more and better) rights than other people. This means that the government has to take away your rights and give them to someone more politically favored. For example, if you think this gender-benderism is wrong or unnatural, the government will take away your right to speak your opinion and it will force you to say things in favor of gender-benderism, because the transgendered person has the “right” to feel good and not be criticized. If you have money you want to spend or invest, the government will take your money so that drug addicts have the “right” to taxpayer funded needles. If you think you have a right to defend your home from criminals, the government will take away your means to defend yourself and it will grant violent criminals a long list of “rights,” until criminals can do pretty much whatever they want.
Ever notice that transgender issues are always Gay?
If this was a real problem wouldn’t it be a heterosexual issue?
Gender Envy is not a medical condition, it is an illness that medical science (who, by the way, stand to gain a fortune from the "treatment" and surgery for) has invented. The whole issue of calling it a medical condition is to force insurance and even more importantly- taxpayers - to pay for this super high $ surgery and "treatment".

It isn't about real rights denied, it is about creating new and "special" rights for those who are unhappy with their gender. Much like the homosexuals want ADDITIONAL rights to "Marry" the same gender partner, the folks who WANT to change gender what the "right" to have someone else pay for it (read that taxpayers).
Abomination to human kind, and to God's design. A real "birth defect" related to gender would be if someone were born with BOTH sets of reproductive organs. IN that case, I can see at least an argument for removing one set (although I'm still not convinced that taxpayers should be footing the bill). But such cases of hermaphroditic births are super rare.
