[history]
"The central fact is that after three quarters of a century of extraordinarily mild conditions, the earth's climate seems to be cooling down. Meteorologists disagree about the cause and extent of the cooling trend, as well as over its specific impact on local weather conditions. But they are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century. If the climatic change is as profound as some of the pessimists fear, the resulting famines could be catastrophic."

Maybe if we all started driving SUV’s and started driving cars with low MPG we could solve this global cooling thing. Of course we should all invest in Halliburton. Of course maybe this global cooling will lead to the permanent cancellation of all bikini contests which should make all feminest happy.

Somehow the enviro-whackos will blame global cooling on global warming. Whatever the problem is, progress and capitalism must have caused it.

Global warming is good...global cooling is bad. Food production will drop dramatically.

Somehow the enviro-whackos will blame global cooling on global warming. Whatever the problem is, progress and capitalism must have caused it. "if enough cold, fresh water coming from the melting polar ice caps and the melting glaciers of Greenland flows into the northern Atlantic, it will shut down the Gulf Stream, which keeps Europe and northeastern North America warm. The worst-case scenario would be a full-blown return of the last ice age - in a period as short as 2 to 3 years from its onset - and the mid-case scenario would be a period like the 'little ice age' of a few centuries ago that disrupted worldwide weather patterns leading to extremely harsh winters, droughts, worldwide desertification, crop failures, and wars around the world."

But the scientists see few signs that government leaders anywhere are even prepared to take the simple measures of stockpiling food Increasing food reserves is never a bad idea.

I remember my first grade teacher in Chicago trying to scare the hell out of us with Global Cooling. She handed out maps showing how glaciers would cover our city.
And people wonder why I'm so skeptical of Global Warming talk...

Has been posted here, here, here, here and here before, and many more times that a quick search didn't catch. Are you suggesting that *everyone*, therefore, must have seen and read it, or otherwise be aware that the lefties once warned of a looming ice age? Just because you and some others may have read it doesn't mean everyone has. There are probably many more people on the list who have not seen it than who have. Maybe I'm missing your point?
