The National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association

"The National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA) is a non-profit membership organization based in Washington, D.C. that has served as an important source of advocacy, education and training for the family planning and reproductive health care field for more than 35 years. NFPRHA's mission is to assure access to voluntary, confidential, comprehensive, culturally sensitive family planning and reproductive health care services and to support reproductive freedom for all. NFPRHA represents providers of care: public, private, domestic and international as well as researchers, educators, consumers and advocates. NFPRHA members provide reproductive health care services at nearly 4,500 clinics to more than 4 million women annually.

Many NFPRHA members receive funding under Title X of the Public Health Services Act, a critical component of the nation's public health infrastructure that is the only federally-funded, dedicated family planning program to provide reproductive health care to low income and uninsured women. Title X clinics are at the forefront of efforts to reduce rates of unintended pregnancy, HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases and breast and cervical cancers, and their impact has been enormous. Last year alone, Title X services enabled women to avoid one million unintended pregnancies, nearly half of which would have ended in abortion. The Title X system is the entry point into the health care system for millions of American women.

Mission Statement

The National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRH), founded in 1971, is a non-profit membership organization established to assure access to voluntary, comprehensive and culturally sensitive family planning and reproductive health care services and to support reproductive freedom for all. "

Even if Fred did some lobbying for them, it may have had nothing to do with abortion. The above indicates other services.

NFP is supported by the Catholic church. It couldn’t be farther away from abortion.

From Medical News today website quoting the LA Times article
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/76314.php

"...hired Thompson, who was working for the lobbying firm Arent Fox, to urge the George H.W. Bush administration to withdraw or relax a federal policy on funding restrictions for groups providing abortion-related services (Finnegan, Los Angeles Times, 7/7)."
