SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera sought the approval of the state attorney general this morning to to file a lawsuit to oust Supervisor Ed Jew from office, charging that the rookie supervisor lied about where he lived when he ran for office last year.
Citing records and declarations that showed little or no use of utilities -- and interviews with nearly three-dozen neighbors -- Herrera said that Jew's claims to reside in the Sunset District were false.
Most records that would "typically be relied on to demonstrate legal domicile" during the relevant time period -- including tax returns, bank statements and other public documents -- list Jew's address as his Chinatown flower shop or a home in Burlingame where Jew has said his family lives.
"In seeking Supervisor Jew's removal from office, I am acting to remedy a crisis in governmental legitimacy that is unprecedented in San Francisco's modern history," Herrera said. "The evidence from my office's investigation is overwhelming and clear: Mr. Jew violated the residency requirements of the City Charter and state law."

I’d of thought being a demonstrated liar was a plus in SF politics.
The vast majority of Jews in China (evidently a Ashkenazi Synagogue in your picture) were European Jews who emigrated to Shanghai (and some other large coastal cities) in the 1920’s-1940’s (most left after WW2). They of course wouldn’t look anything like Chinese.
The Chron reported that his house’s water-usage records showed almost no water used, and his neighbors say no one’s lived there for years!
It’s sda, he’s the most conservative Supe on the board, that’s why they want him gone.
I wonder what Rose Pak’s reaction will be?

The most basic requirement in running for office is that you must live in the district.
The point was that a Chinese person can be Jewish, granted though it is rare.
