Michelle Malkin: The rules of engagement
Washington Times ^ | 6/16/07 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 06/16/2007 12:44:49 AM PDT by JohnHuang2

As you follow the debate over the Bush-Kennedy immigration bill, keep this cardinal rule in mind: 99.99 percent of the lawmakers who promise you they'll ensure the deportation of anyone who doesn't follow their new "guest-worker" regulations are either (A) lying or (B) completely clueless.

Rule No. 2: Anyone who plays the Enforcement equals Kicking-Down-Doors-And-Depriving-Babies-of-Mother's-Milk card (yes, that's you, Geraldo Rivera) is either (A) lying or (B) completely clueless.

As I've reported many times over the last several years, the nation's deportation abyss is governed by one reality: "It ain't over 'til the alien wins." Immigration lawyers and ethnic activists run a massive, lucrative industry whose sole objective is to help illegal aliens and convicted criminal visa holders evade deportation for as long as possible. Entry into this country should be a privilege, not a right. The open borders lobby has turned that principle on its head.

Look no further than New York, where four convicted criminal aliens -- a child molester, two killers and a racketeer -- just won a federal lawsuit to remain in the country after all being ordered deported. The stunning decision from the U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, Blake v. Carbone, came down on June 1 as the "shamnesty" debate was bubbling in Washington.

The stunning decision from the U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals,

There is nothing more important than the power to nominate judges. Under our system as it has evolved, all the real power lies in the judiciary.

We found that out with Prop 187 here in California.

You can pass a million laws and build a mile high fence, but nothing will work if the judiciary is not behind the rule of law rather than the rule of lawyers.

The last time I ever heard of anyone getting deported was during the clinton administration.

In that instance they stormed the house of an American citizen and took the young Cuban refuge. (Juan?)

Didn't seem to bother any of the liberals then.

Jerry Rivers is a racist.

Yep, and he proved it several times the other night in a face to face with Michelle on O'Reilly. In case you missed it, Michelle wiped the floor with Geraldo the other night. It was classic!

Alien criminals have more rights than law-abiding Americans. Something is very wrong with this picture.

Geraldo was absolutely appalling in his demagoguery ; comparing the deportation of illegals to the treatment of Jews during the inquisition. I damn near threw a f****** brick through my television. He is a militant ethnic activist with a chip on his shoulder the size of a Buick.

Geraldo is not beneath contempt. He is multiple geological layers beneath contempt.

They probably bought those lists of signatures at the same place where they buy the phony Social Security cards. Anything for a price.

God Bless Michelle Malkin, she has more smarts and courage than our whole Government.

Geraldo Riviera, AKA ( Jerry Rivers) a nice Puerto Rican Jewish Boy who by his own admission, got his job through Affirmative Action, should recuse himself from the Immigration debate due to Cultural Bias.

Both O’Reilly and Fox should keep him off the O’Reilly show.

O’Reilly and Sean couldn’t survive without Jerry, the ego-maniac who believes that people really care what he thinks.

Dear Michelle,

I'm terribly sorry to have to disagree with you, but your insistence that there are only 2 choices, "lying or clueless" isn't quite right...

There's always the third choice, "lying AND clueless," which is pretty much where the vast majority of the supporters of the amnesty bill are...

Mark

They keep telly us this is NOT an amnesty.....it seems they don't read the dictionary..if it looks, quacks and walks like a duck, it's a dirty, ugly pig of an amnesty bill.

am·nes·ty –noun 1. a general pardon for offenses, esp. political offenses, against a government, often granted before any trial or conviction.

2. Law. an act of forgiveness for past offenses, esp. to a class of persons as a whole.

3. a forgetting or overlooking of any past offense. –verb (used with object) 4. to grant amnesty to; pardon.

Enforcement equals Kicking-Down-Doors-And-Depriving-Babies-of-Mother's-Milk card

This was kind of a bad analogy, given what happened with Elian Gonzalez.
