I agree with you. And I was raised in a church where we were taught not to question the level of another’s faith. Being sanctimonious and holier than thou was discouraged. I would never question W’s faith. Ever.

His obsession with good works and altruism like many evangelicals is part of what stymies him from dealing realistically and profoundly with illegal immigration.

There is more to Christianity than good works....and he knows that I’m sure but good works has been weighted heavily since the 60s for many new style Christians and even some groups now think that notion trumps salavation and grace which is apostate and good works converges well with white guilt ...something which Bush definitely suffers from.

he has been known to cray with soldiers families...to his credit.

I agree 100%. He loves the Lord and means well. He just happens to be dead WRONG on immigration!That doesn't make him a bad man. It's just that a good Godly man is making a very bad choice!
