GOP Incumbents Williams, Bell Lose Senate Seats
Conservative Republican challengers prevailed against moderate incumbents in key legislative primary elections across Virginia yesterday, setting the stage for a bruising fall election in which Democrats will try to take over the GOP-controlled General Assembly by capturing the political middle.

Two key moderate Republicans lost their seats in the Virginia Senate yesterday: Martin E. Williams (Newport News), chairman of the influential Senate Transportation Committee, and J. Brandon Bell II (Roanoke). Challengers Patricia B. "Tricia" Stall and Ralph K. Smith accused the incumbents of betraying the Republican Party by siding with Democratic governors to raise taxes.
"The people have spoken, and it is time for a change," said Robin DeJarnette, executive director of the Virginia Conservative Action PAC, which worked to unseat moderate Republicans who have sided with Democrats. "It is time to stop raising taxes in Virginia."

Great news for Virginians! Hold of the Dems!!
Hopefully a bellwether of things to come.
This is good news. We didn’t get rid of Stosch and Hanger, but this is still progress.
Hallelujah!
Congratulations to Virginia Republicans for dumping a couple of steaming piles who helped the scumbag Democrats raise taxes!
Ok Moderates, your turn to pay up, vote, and shut up. You don’t want to elect a democrat do you?
Good news. I was getting tired of the Republicans who talked and walked like Democrats on taxation.
Outstanding. Purge the RINOs.
Is there a Virginia political ping list?
Two key liberal Democrats masquerading as Republicans lost their seats in the Virginia Senate yesterday: Martin E. Williams (Newport News), chairman of the influential Senate Transportation Committee, and J. Brandon Bell II (Roanoke).
Fixed it for you.
Great news.Congradulations Virginia.
Bring it on.
Which would be a first since they usually do not have time for common folk and their concerns.
Maybe they will be just a tad skittish about tying themselves and their political future to a looser like the Shamnesty bill.
As a former resident of the Commonwealth, I am happy to hear this. Congrats Virginia!
Virginia motto - “Sic Semper Tyrannus”!
Pinging for discussion of yesterday’s primaries.
This list is a bit old, so let me know if you want on/off.
I will never vote for another RINO again, as long as I live, whether in a primary or a general election.
Nor will I send any RINO (including the RNC) any money. Ever.
Yep - sometimes we get it right.
The RINOs are more trouble than they are worth.
