Islamists threaten to widen Lebanon attacks

NAHR AL-BARED, Lebanon: Islamist militants locked in a standoff with the Lebanese army threatened on Thursday to widen attacks as tanks and helicopter gunships pounded their strongholds inside an impoverished refugee camp.

The warning came on the 19th day of the battle as sporadic fire continued to range between troops fighting Fatah al-Islam militiamen at Nahr al-Bared camp in northern Lebanon.

Anyone ask the palestinians what these foreign fighters were doing in their “refugee camps”?

There has been the predictable 0 coverage of this aspect of the story by the MSM.

blam, Lebanon is not all muslim. There are many Christians there who are trying to keep their country from being completely overrun by the religion of thugs. There’s an excellent book by Brigitte Gabriel called “Because They Hate”, which chronicles the means by which the muslims overran Lebanon and bred themselves into the government. It’s also a powerful warning to this country that we face the same fate if we do not act now to root out the terror cells and plotters on our own shores.

Pardon me if I’m telling you something you already know, but my heritage is Lebanese, and it pains me to see what has happened to one of the few Middle Eastern countries that at one time prided itself on its peaceful commerce and openness to all. The muslims have destroyed it, but many good people are trying to keep some shred of hope alive there.

I wanted to tell you that the only two officers KIA in Nahr El Bared are Maronites. The other soldiers KIA are a mixture of sunni moslems from the area and christians. The last sergeant to be killed was from Meshmesh (Akkar) village of Abu Hreirah, number two of Fatah Al Islam.
