Mary Matalin, former counselor to Vice President Dick Cheney, is joining likely presidential candidate Fred Thompson’s team and will serve as an unpaid adviser.
Matalin, who served as treasurer for Sen. George Allen’s unsuccessful re-election campaign last year, is a friend of Thompson and his wife Jeri, Politico.com reports.
Also joining the Thompson team is Lawrence Lindsey, President George Bush’s first economic adviser and a proponent of his tax cuts. He will serve as chief architect of Thompson’s economic policy.
Meanwhile, President Bush’s nephew George P. Bush – son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush – has contributed to Thompson’s prospective campaign and co-signed an e-mail asked friends and associates to contribute as well.

Damn. This is the first downer for the Thompson campaign yet.

An “Adviser” can mean many things. If she’s one of several, I think it’s OK.
Unpaid advisor. Hopefully, Fred will regard her advice as worth every penny he's paying for it.
On the other hand, it's valuable for him to have her locked up on his side, and do the opposite of what she tells him to do...

Actually the second. Drudge had a article of how Bush Advisors are jumping onboard. Great thats all we need. Bush advisors who know how to get 26% poll ratings and Mary Matilan, James Carville’s wife, (One ugly wife I might ad)
Obviously it is hoped this will have a negative effect to those of us wanting a person of integrity, and not the same ole same ole deceit .....and lies.
I think this is disinformation or plain untruth.

I just saw 'Serpenthead' Carville on an early C-span this AM, and he's still touting the praises of Bill Clinton.
For goodness sakes, he sleeps with Mary...
