This reminds me of an "art" exhibit streetscape on Asylum St. in Hartford, CT right now. The theme is "diversity". The art is a cross between Nazi and Soviet Realism. I guess the leftists are trying to show us what their miserable future dystopia would look like.

It’s the other way around. According to this 2003 article, the Tunnel of Opression “originated at the University of Western Illinois at Macomb a decade ago [~1993].” So South Park was satirizing the already-existing Tunnel of Oppression.

Man, you gotta Google “Tunnel of Oppression”. There are versions of this piece of crap all over the country. Besides UNLV, there is one at Maryland, Western Ill, Ball State, Arizona U, Regis U(no, I have no idea where that is), Nevada-Reno, San Diego State, Syracuse, Kansas U, E Washington, San Jose State, George Mason, Pace U, NYU, John Carroll U, and the list goes on and on. I had no idea.

I guess the right way to combat this stuff is the way South Park did it. As a Detroit Lions fan, I’d like to see a Tunnel of Oppression to memorialize my torture. There’d be lots of great scenes of past embarassments.

I’m only 43, so my version would start with “Dallas 5, Detroit 0”. Then scenes of Tommy Hudspeth and Rick Forzano would follow. Russ Thomas would get plenty of space. The year of Jeff Komlo was excruciating. Then a mocking set of Jimmy “Spiderman” Allen singing “Another One Bites The Dust”. Eddie Murray wide right in San Francisco. Multiple playoff failures against Green Bay. Giving up 57 at Philadelphia in the playoffs. Scott Mitchell dressed up as the Big Buck. And then, almost deserving of its own attraction, the Matt Millen Era(in progress).
