It now looks like the American people will never learn how - and why - Bill Clinton's national security adviser, Sandy "Sticky Fingers" Berger, stole and destroyed classified documents from the National Archives.
That's because Berger - in a significant, but little-noticed, move - has short-circuited the last investigation into his sordid little burglary.
As Byron York reports at National Review Online, Berger last week voluntarily surrendered his law license.
Now, that's hardly as serious a step as it sounds, since - as Berger freely admitted - "I have not [practiced law] for 15 years and do not envision returning to the profession."
What it does, however, is prematurely end an investigation by the District of Columbia Bar Association into Berger's confessed thievery. It also means that details of the probe, which would have been made public, now remain sealed.
So much for the public's right to know.
Berger, recall, was nabbed smuggling state secrets down his pants - specifically, drafts of an after-action memo by anti-terrorism adviser Richard Clarke that reportedly identified national-security weaknesses so "glaring" that only sheer luck prevented a 9/11-style attack during Clinton's presidency.
For a year after his arrest, Berger insisted he'd only "inadvertently" walked off - several times - with the documents, which he later destroyed.
Two years ago, Berger finally admitted that his story was a lie. He pleaded guilty, paid a $50,000 fine and was sentenced to two years probation.
Unfortunately, he wasn't required to explain in open court just what he was trying to conceal.

And three years without clearance, only one more year to go.

Clinton refused to stop 9/11. Multiple times. Turned down many offers from Sudan to turn over bin Laden. Called the FBI off Atta’s trail.
Democrats play to win, the GOP plays by the rules...and lose to the guys who cheat to win. The Democrats never offer any solutions to problems other than creating more of them in the long term. We need a team that is smarter, wiser and tougher than the Democratic scum that operates our government. We need a new and tough leader...WE NEED FRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are times when the injustices of England that caused the founding of this country seemed like nothing compared to the injustices of our Federal Government firmly ensconced in D.C. and stomping on the rights of our citizenry. Maybe all of us conservatives need to find a new land where freedom, democracy and liberty can become the world’s greatest country after this country and Europe succumb to the Muslim effort to return the whole world to 6th century barbarism...sorry, Bill Gates, but your fortune has been confiscated to rebuild Mecca without computers.

Interesting. There’s no question that TWA 800 was a coverup of an Islamist terror operation.
And unfortunately the Bush administration has joined in helping continue the coverup. I believe I recall that the FBI executive who handled the coverup for clinton was awarded a medal and a promotion by Robert Mueller, Bush’s new director, soon after he was confirmed.
Mueller appears to be a total incompetent, who has done absolutely nothing to straighten out the mess at the bureau.

If someone forgets to file a piece of paper with the IRS they could be hounded by the govt.
If someone else steals classified docs from the National Archives, they can be.....done nothing to.

democRat traitors are apparently above the law. This is only one of a string of egregious offenses during and after the Clinton administration.
How could your friend possibly know that -- unless he knows what the truth was himself? That being the case, what can your friend tell us about it?
If he stole the truth, that means the official story was a fabrication. So either the muzzies were involved or the Navy screwed up. Do you have an opinion, RB?
