The California Highway Patrol announced Thursday evening that its investigation into crashes involving state Sen. Carole Migden last week has not been completed, and that no determination has been made whether to request that her driving rights be yanked.
Earlier in the day, a CHP spokesman had told the Chronicle and other news media outlets that Migden was at fault for two accidents Friday, including one that injured another driver. CHP spokesman Sgt. Wulf Corrington also said that the CHP was going to ask the Department of Motor Vehicles to evaluate whether Migden's driving rights should be suspended. A story based on Corrington's comments appeared on SFGate.
But the information given by Corrington was released prematurely, according to a second CHP spokesman, Sgt. Les Bishop, who contacted the Chronicle in the evening.
"The CHP is not drawing any conclusions based on the information we have received to date,''

D?
R?
She is a Democrat and a lesbian.
Some heads must roll. if I can't be expected to be treated equally, something is seriously wrong here.
This is a huge black eye for the CHP...
Carole Migden is the Chairperson of California Senate Labor & Industrial Relations Committee and the Chairperson of the Senate Majority Caucus. She was previously the Senate Appropriations Committee Chair, until she resigned her chair in November 2005. According to Migden, she resigned to assist State Controller Steve Westly in his bid to win the 2006 California Democratic gubernatorial primary.
Critics dispute this claim, suggesting Migden was forced to resign following a scandal over her September 2005 "ghost vote" incident. On August 31, 2005, she used the voting machine of Assemblyman Guy Houston (R-Livermore) to cast the deciding vote for her cosmetic safety bill, SB 484. In a later vote, Guy Houston voted against the bill. Casting a vote in the other house of the Legislature, using another member's machine, was in violation of the rules of the Assembly, and did not count. Assembly Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield) discussed the possibility of banning Migden from entering the Assembly Floor.[2]
As Chairperson of the Board of Equalization, Carole Migden increased the profile of the tax collecting agency and improved domestic partner rights through reinterpretation of the tax code.[citation needed]
While in the Assembly, Carole Migden served as Chairperson of the Assembly Committee on Appropriations and conferee on the state's Joint Budget Conference Committee. She also chaired the San Francisco Democratic Party for eight years and is a member of the Democratic National Committee.
Migden was the author of California's original domestic partner laws. In February 2004, she married Cristina Arguedas, a criminal defense attorney and her partner since 1985, in a ceremony at San Francisco City Hall.[3] That marriage was later annulled by the California Supreme Court.[4]
Nothing new.
What lie is she telling now? First, she claimed she was lost and late for an appointment in Marin County (!?!), although why that would make her drive all over the road and hit other cars in Sonoma County I don’t know; then, second, she claimed she was distracted when she reached for her cellphone to answer a call, which just shows how stupid she is because she’d been driving erratically for far longer than the time it would take to pick up a cellphone (at least 6 drivers called 911 to report her); and, third, she claimed she was on medication for leukemia which may have caused her some neurological disorientation, although she also claims she’s had leukemia for over 10 years but it appears not to have been known to anyone. She’s a typical leftist looney moonbat straight from the moonbat capital of the world. Maybe the fact that her illegal homosexual “marriage” was annulled by the CA Supreme Court drove her insane.
She should have had a blood test done and at least cited for “following too closely” a common charge when a person rear ends another vehicle...
Look at the carbon being burned by the excessive lighting in that barn...
Maybe the state is just building up it’s usage so it can sell carbon credits when it turns off 75% percent of the lighting in the future?
It’s part of Arnie’s deficit reduction program (which includes anything other than cutting spending, of course.)
You should know the drill by now, if the story doesn’t mention party affiliation, it’s a dem.
If it were a republican, the story would read, “Republican senatorial powerbroker XXXXX callously ran down a young family....”
And oh the mercury in those fluorescent tubes...! For shame.
There’s a whole lot more to this story still to come.
Migden said she has been trying since the day after her accident to send a note of apology to [the woman she injured]. She said she left a note with the Senate sergeants-at-arms Thursday for them to deliver to the woman.
Where I come from, you don't "try" to send a note, you either send it or you don't.
The stench of coverup is in the air.
Is that a prediction or inside scoop?
I don’t know whether to be outraged or to feel sorry for her.
Something is very, very wrong—one way or the other.
Hot Dam...keep us posted. There is not much to cheer about here behind the Redwood Curtain...
One of the articles says that the State gets to pick up the tab on this stuff since it is State business so the insurance is State purchased. If I had the time, or if I were a diligent reporter, I’d put in a FOIA request for all insurance claims on vehicles assigned to Migden.
One article said she had a mishap with a bus last year. Perhaps there are more... many more? Either that, or go track down her favorite body shop and have a chit-chat, LOL.
Wow poor Midgie just can't get a break, huh. She better not try the "I'm the victim here because I'm battling leukemia" gambit now.
