Buffalo, New York - (AP) A Yemen newspaper is reporting that Jaber Elbaneh -- the fugitive associate of the so-called Lackawanna Six -- is in custody in Yemen.
Elbaneh is wanted in Buffalo on a charge of providing material support to al-Qaida by attending a training camp in Afghanistan in 2001. Authorities say he attended the camp with members of the Lackawanna Six, but unlike the others, never came back to the United States.
He was in custody in a Yemen prison before escaping with more than 20 other prisoners in February 2006. The US has a five million-dollar reward for his capture.
Paul Moskal of the Buffalo field office of the FBI says he's heard the media reports that Elbaneh turned himself in recently in Yemen.
But he says the office has not been officially notified and it's not clear just whose custody Elbaneh may be in.
The Yemen Observer -- citing unnamed security sources -- says he's being held at the Political Security Prison in Sana'a, Yemen.
Not mentioned.. #1 on the FBI’s “ten most wanted” terrorist list...
Gitmo the bastard!

Good news! Now if they would do something about the Hancock camp.
