Yesterday, the two Cabinet secretaries -- both of whom have been subjects of Kennedy broadsides in the past -- lauded the Democrats' aging lion as the one indispensable player in the negotiating process. "He's awesome," gushed Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff , as he left a news conference announcing the bipartisan agreement. "I'd say he was one of the critical leaders in putting together this deal."

Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez called it "a real privilege" to work with Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat and liberal stalwart who spends much of his time trying to thwart or undo Bush administration policies.

Kennedy celebrated by meeting with several families affected by the March raid on illegal immigrants in New Bedford . "They're still reeling from that," Kennedy said. "When I told them the bill would make them safe and secure, you should have seen the look in their eyes. They knew they didn't have to be scared."

“”He’s awesome,””

Just passing on his bosses thought. Bush seems to really dig working with the Swimmer and together those two have sold out the country.

Imagine if Kennedy had to get a real job and had to really work hard to support a family.

“Imagine if Kennedy had to get a real job and had to really work hard to support a family.”

Why do you think he supports welfare?

Well, Ted has had plenty of practice, authoring the disasterous 1965 and 1986 immigration bills that have parlayed a few hundred thousand illegal aliens into the 12-20 million we have today. Only in this brain dead administration would this be considered a success. Chertoff is apparently enthralled with Kennedy because at least that old socialist has stuck to his political agenda, something one can’t say of anyone in the Bush administration.

Kennedy celebrated by meeting with several families affected by the March raid on illegal immigrants in New Bedford .

“They’re still reeling from that,” Kennedy said.

“When I told them the bill would make them safe and secure, you should have seen the look in their eyes. They knew they didn’t have to be scared.”

Well, you’re are most certainly correct Sen. Kennedy. Illegals do not have to fear anything now. Only honest, law-abiding citizens have to fear now. What a terrible example this man sets for those who actually want to live by the principle “Rule of Law”. Anyone wanna bet that the federal government will be just as pathetic at enforcing the new illegal immigration laws as they were before this bill was passed?

My guess is that when Susan Milligan isn’t busy attempting to make an old drunk windbag look like a knight in shining armour she spends a lot of time attempting to polish turds.

"Kennedy celebrated by meeting with several families affected by the March raid on illegal immigrants in New Bedford"

I wonder why he didn't have the same sympathy for the family of Elian Gonzalez.

“It’s obvious we’re from different parties” said Gutierrez.
IT IS?????
“We don’t always have to agree”
——Then why do you? What a bunch of LOSERS!!!!! “He’s awesome” , etc etc. {pardon me while I puke)
NOT A DAY GOES BY WHEN I DO NOT HAVE IT CONFIRMED THAT THERE IS NOTHING BUT A MERELY RHETORICAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO
“PARTIES” ——I guess these were “parties” to which we were not invited.

Chertoff (thinks): "Ted Kennedy appreciates me like those wonderful Islamic terrorist radiologists
when I was their defense counsel on the East coast."
