You seem to be somehow missing the obvious. The dems more then anything live and die by the polls. There is NO POLLING that shows the cutting of funding to the troops to be even close to being a majority view, In fact the polling overwhelmingly supports the continued and if necessary INCREASED funding necessary to carry this war to a favorable conclusion. This is from a PEW POLL and PEW is not a Republican favoring polling firm.

You seem to be missing the obvious. The Supplemental passed by Congess contains $100 billion for the troops plus some pork. So the Dems can say that they are providing funding for the troops. It is the President who is stopping it.

The sticking point is the timing of when we leave. The Dems can claim that the majority of the public wants us out and they are "tired" of the war in Iraq, which they claim is a civil war. "Favorable conclusion" is a subjective judgment. I still believe the Dems hold the better cards in terms of PR. The President will have to compromise if he wants the funds.
