WiFi could be health risk at schools

LONDON, England (UPI) -- British health officials want an investigation into possible hazards of wireless communication, which is increasingly being used in British schools.

The inquiry comes after recent research revealed new threats of radiation from wireless communication, or WiFi, The (London) Independent reported.

The Department of Education has touted WiFi as a 'magical' system in which computers do not have to be hooked up to phone lines. A majority of Britain`s elementary and high schools reportedly use WiFi.

Sir William Stewart, the chairman of the Health Protection Agency, has chaired two official inquiries into similar risks believed to be posed by cell phones. He is reportedly adding his weight to the call for investigations into WiFi, which some scientists fear could cause cancer and other health problems, the newspaper said.

I bet WIFI causes low sperm count, hair loss, inflation, deflation, low inner city test scores, gangster rap, AIDS, and psoriasis.

This is as dumb as the sign hanging at the salon where I get my hair cut. It says "Please turn off your cell phones as our computers are networked.".

Ever hear of a cell phone interfering with a computer network?

They really just want the cell phones off so you are not trying to answer calls why you are getting your hair cut, and also bothering others. But just say that - don't make up crap.

Apparently my entire generation is doomed to get cancer from these danged wireless technologies... I’m sitting not two feet from my WiFi router, and who knows how much time I spend on my cell phone each day.

Nevermind all the random waves coming from all over the galaxy that all living organisms have always been subject to...

It just never stops, WiFi puts out (radiates) 1/70th of the power consumed by a night-light. but I guess if you sit down next to a few billion of them? NAH.

Seems every generation is exposed to their own set of radiation “dangers.”

I can’t tell you the number of times my parents told us the dangers of sitting too close to the TV. It was a never ending battle to get us to “move away from the TV.”

“Ever hear of a cell phone interfering with a computer network? “

Yes they can. We have to check for this during development of computerized medical devices. In some cases incoming rings or pings to cell phones will interfere with computers.

No, magic is when music comes from a grooved plastic disc...

But I don't think it's going to bring down a hair salon...

“But I don’t think it’s going to bring down a hair salon...’

But it does temporarily interfere with wireless medical devices when they are monitoring or recording data. If you bring in hundreds of cell phones into a hospital, the chances of this happening go up significantly.
