Louisville, KY.--- A western Kentucky judge was suspended without pay for 15 days for jailing 17 Hispanic immigrants indefinitely after asking federal authorities to investigate their status.

The State Judicial Conduct Commission on Thursday ordered Judge Sue Carol Browning, who oversees cases in Logan and Todd counties, off the bench from April 28 through May 12.

A smart judge would have set an impossibly high bail.

Notice how anyone who actually tries to do something about illegal immigration is severely punished ?

A judge wanting to make a point in the press, who was willing to be suspended for actually holding Illegals in detention on the simple merit of doing so sounds pretty smart to me. ;)

I hear what you are saying cripplecreek but I would offer that people reading about this have got to be saying to themselves “HUH? Suspended for actually detaining Illegals????”

But a Pedophile rapist can be released on home detention with no problem. Where is the justice in our Justice system?

"I think it demonstrates that we have to follow the laws," Delahanty said. "We have a court system and people have to play by the rules, even if they are judges."

WTF? But illegal "immigrants" do not?

Tomorrow’s headline? “Mexico City says ‘bigoted judge was too harsh... violated rights,’ demands ‘justice.’ U.S. DOJ spokesman says judge could get 11 - 12 years.”

Browning's conduct "created an impression" among the community that the judge had a racial bias or prejudice, the commission said.

I wonder which community that would be, maybe the illegal immigrant community?

Or maybe the ultra-leftist community?

Paul Witte, a pastoral associate for St. Susan Catholic Church in
Elkton who works with immigrants, filed the complaint against Browning
that led to the suspension.

Unfortunately, I've got to witness some otherwise "law-'n-order"
conservative Protestants follow this fellow's lead.

Of course, they were protecting their source of cheap, and
easily-manipulated source of manual labor.

It boggles the mind. I mean, I am trying to follow the logic and my brain is going in circles.

A judge locks up people who are breaking the law and requests the feds look into it and she gets suspended. I don't see what happened to the jailed illegals in the story but I am in a hurry and may just be missing it. Are they still? I do a search for "release" and nothing comes up.

Maybe they were made congressmen and women who will seal the border since that seems to be a job American legislators wont do.

This judge is getting screwed. No question.

The whole point of bail is that its based on the defendant being a flight risk. I can’t think of a single person who would be a greater flight risk than an illegal immigrant.

She seemed perfectly reasonable in not just letting them back out on the street.

Browning previously told news outlets in Hopkinsville that she jailed the defendants because she had little information about their residency status or criminal history. She also said she had seen the same defendants repeatedly in court and that some gave false names when they were arrested.

My first thought was that this is feudal and Unamerican.
My second thought was, what’s the likelihood of an illegal posting bail, and actually showing up for trial?
My third thought was.... whatever.

They can suspend a judge for jailing ILLEGAL immigrants but not for allowing a child preditor to go free in Vermont. It only shows you who is protected and who is not. Funny we are the ones paying the bills!

It’s beyond insulting to American citizens that our government and our courts are surrendering our national sovereignty to a third-world toilet of a country, namely...Mexico.

“The Commission has concluded that it should have been obvious to Judge Browning as a sworn judge to support the Constitution that her denial of the right to bail in 17 cases was seriously wrong,” commission Chairman Stephen Wolnitzek of Covington wrote in the decision”

Hmmmmmmm illegal aliens do not have rights under the COTUS...

Oh may this be made into a test case to go all the way to the SCOTUS
