John Edwards said he’s embarrassed about his now famous $400 haircut.
Campaign finance records show that Edwards’ campaign paid a Beverly Hills stylist $400 for his haircuts. Those pricey snips have undercut Edwards’ image as a populist crusading for the little guy.
“It’s a ridiculous amount of money for a haircut,” Edwards told reporters after a campaign stop on Adel’s town square. “I’m actually embarrassed by it.
“This guy had to come to where I was to get a haircut. I knew it’d be expensive. I didn’t know it would be that expensive. Hopefully I’ll have enough sense not to do that again.”
Edwards rejected the notion that his haircuts don’t jibe with his campaign message...

I disagree. This joker is pandering to the poor and encouraging class envy by pretending to be a regular, middle class Joe.
$400 a pop for haircuts, regardless of where the money comes from, ain't middle class and this POS needs his feet held to the fire until his adoring followers realize that The Breck Girl's hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Edwards is nothing, if not a phony. However, how he chooses to spend his own money is none of my business. It’s not illegal. We’re now watching on the news the American who chose to spend $25M of his own to go into space. That’s his right. Edwards wants a $400 haircut? Ditto. People can sort out WHICH of his purported two America’s Edwards lives in.

that was my original post ... that he should have been embarassed about WHO paid for the haircuts rather than the amount ... that if he’d spent his own $$$, it’s really no one else’s business and the hypocrisy is another issue altogether. I don’t think campaigns should pay for the candidates’ haircuts whether it’s $400 or $20.

Like I said in one of my earlier posts...he could have gottan a great haircut from my dad’s barber for about $15 or less. My dad was a handsome man and always looked great and neat all the time due to his barber’s expertise. My dad would NEVER have been caught dead in a spa especially one call Pink whatever. Edwards is setting himself up for more ridicule. Seems to me with his wife being ill that SHE should be the one that should be pampered at a spa to make here feel special and relaxed. Not him!!!
I’ve never spent better money than on the shears, thinning shears and clippers. Of course, they always want a haircut AFTER I clean (which really gets me) and I have to do it all over again.
Why in the world would he even discuss this to bring more attention to it?

Wow, sounds like you’ve got the “Neighborhood Barber Pole Hangout.” :) That’s great. I can cut the front and sides of my hair too. Sometimes i can do the back but like you said as long as you dont’ let it go too much. Drives my daughter crazy at how I can do the back. :) Haircuts are expensive but...NOT $400. If Edwards is paying that for one of his pretty boy haircuts...he’s getting “ripped off” and therefore...”too stupid” to even think about leading our great country.
