MSM Coverage of Massacres Encourages Losers to be Copycats (Vanity)

Posted on 04/20/2007 9:45:18 AM PDT by ChiefJayStrongbow

Since Columbine, there has been several mass murders, and the MSM gives such ‘fame’ to the pyshcos that perpetrate these crimes, that it encourages others to follow in their footsteps (many colleges & schools have received threats of copycat attacks since Monday). The portrayals by the media of these mass murderers and the limelight that is afforded them always shows the mass murderers in pictures/videos of when they were alive. I think to break the cycle, we need to show gruesome & embarrassing pictures of the murderers after they are dead.

It seems as if the intent of most of these rampages is to get revenge for past injustices and humiliations (real or perceived). If the murderer was humiliated after his death, it would probably go a long way towards preventing copycat style killings.

I think the bodies of the murderers should be desecrated and displayed in the most humiliating manner possible. Rather then giving the murderers their 15 minutes of fame and showing pictures/videos of what they were like when alive, their carcasses should be displayed in a manner which befits their heinous and cowardly actions.

I welcome your input.

On the other hand, the Cho videos showed how inarticulate and unintelligent the guy was. I don’t like that the MSM whores used this to boost ratings, but Cho certainly does not come across as inspirational. He comes across as what he was... an insane idiot.

Sometimes, the post-shooting coverage can generate some sympathy for the shooter. Like that messed up 14-year-old who shot up Paducah.

Not with this guy though. He's just proved to the world that he really was the complete asshole everybody thought he was. And I'm not even talking about the killings, I'm talking about the video.

He was a loser's loser. The Babe Ruth of the loser set. If he was a president he'd be Losraham Lincoln. If he were a car, he'd be a Loseratti. If he were a country, he'd be Loservania.

A second thought. If the Columbine killers videos also show just how nukin futz they were, release of those vids, I think would lessen their potential appeal.

A person who is sick and evil enough to plan and kill 33 people in cold blood, will probably go through with his actions regardless of media attention.

BS. The only thing that “encourages” one to commit mass murder is Satan whispering in their ear.
