Resign, step aside, go (Barf alert)
The Seattle Times ^ | April 17, 2007 | Editorial

Posted on 04/17/2007 11:02:40 AM PDT by jazusamo

The U.S. government has zero investment in retaining Paul Wolfowitz as president of the World Bank, but millions of poor people rely on the economic health and credibility of the institution.

Wolfowitz is an impediment, a liability, who ought to be sacked if he is too dense and proud to quickly step aside. He is in trouble because he lied about getting his girlfriend a promotion and pay raises after she left the World Bank for a job at the State Department when he became president of the international lending organization.

Over the weekend, the board of the 185-member World Bank expressed deep concern about the future of the institution and worried about its financial stability. Wolfowitz was already in trouble as he struggled to meet a three-year, $30 billion goal. Wolfowitz, a former deputy secretary of defense and architect of the Bush administration's Iraq war policy, was not well-received when he arrived. He rankled World Bank staff with broad accusations of corruption in lending policies to the poorest of nations, and he filled key posts with his own people.

He was arrogant and incompetent when he worked for the secretary of defense. He is fumbling and bumbling with an agency that employs 10,000 people worldwide, and has it roots in reconstruction and assistance that started before the end of World War II.

The editorial board at the Seattle Times would do well to learn all the facts or at least wait until all facts come out to do a hit job on Mr. Wolfowitz.

Clarice Feldman wrote a great piece on this The Wolfowitz Set-up:Just Say No

It amazing how these lefty papers retain no sense of journalistic cynicism or curiosity about the political agendas of these corrupt international organizations.

Everything is taken at face value; no exploration of the competing bureaucratic agendas that are obviously at play in these "scandals".

Pathetic"reporting".

He helped her get a job somewhere else. He didn’t promote her within World Bank. So what!? Compare this to the mayor of San Francisco. Or the Governor of MA.

The Seattle Times is seriously behind the curve. Yesterday’s editorial in the Wall Street Journal demonstrates that this affair is a smear on Wolfowitz:

The WSJ is seriously behind the curve, the Washington Times debunked them: http://www.washingtontimes.com/op-ed/20070416-092429-3803r.htm

Funny how you keep pushing the articles that are against Wolfowitz. What is your agenda? He should not go. Enough of the damn liberal accusations and republicans must be fired or step aside! Enough! This is SOP for liberals, yet when they are accused they never do the same. Enough. There are many more of us who are willing to fight posters like you, and I will call you on it everytime.

As usual the Seattle Times is a fact-free zone.

For your information, I didn’t post this one. Next time, go read who made the post before you make your accusations. You might wish to search my name, where, much to your chagrin, you will notice that I posted the Sliming Wolfowitz article which is very flattering to the man. Next time, draw less foolish conclusions.

I saw who posted this and know it was not you. I was responding to your link post of an article that was anti-Wolfowitz in this situation, which is the stance you have taken since this story broke, LIBERAL. I will call you on your bias for everyone to see.
