Fred Thompson on Neil Cavuto FoxNews—Today: Wednesday 4-11 at 4pm EASTERN

Posted on 04/11/2007 10:05:53 AM PDT by cpforlife.org

Just saw Bill Hemmer with Neil show a preview.

Thompson said he was diagnosed with the "good" type of lymphoma a few years ago and wanted to get the info out sooner rather than later. Neil surmised that Thompson also wanted to gauge the response of the people.

All lymphoma are serious; his is the one least responsive to aggressive treatment and therefore, such treatment is delayed until symptoms demand treatment.

My point wasn’t the prognosis as much as what prompted his announcement.

I think having a husband who was caught having oral sex with a 20-something in the Oval Office is beyond all comprehension.

As I said, I could be my newborn son’s grandfather. It’s just not an issue.

FDT will be the President we need and his wife be a model First Lady. Their children will be a joy for the whole country to watch grow up.

In order for Plutarch to be right we would have to also accept that Fred’s Dr. an Oncology specialist at Georgetown is a liar as well.

Why are we using Canadian statistics? U.S. statistics must be much better.

Is this the drug that Fred mentioned?

‘Impressive’ Complete Remission And ‘Survival Data In Relapsed Indolent NHL Patients Identifies New Potential Registration Trial For Pixantrone

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTI) (Nasdaq: CTIC; MTAX) today announced results from a phase I/II study of patients with relapsed indolent non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) that may identify a potential registration trial for pixantrone. Among the 27 patients evaluable for response, study results showed the FPD-R regimen with pixantrone produced an 89 percent overall response rate (ORR), including 63 percent of patients experiencing a complete disappearance of their disease (complete response, CR). The results were presented at the 48th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH). The estimated median duration of response was 25 months and the estimated progression-free survival rate at three years was 50.4 percent. CTI plans to request a meeting with the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to discuss a Special Protocol Assessment for a phase III trial utilizing this regimen in indolent NHL.

It’s wrong for the guy next door and it’s wrong for Fred Thompson. That’s the way I see it now and that’s the way I saw it 20 years ago. I won’t be changing my mind about it either.

“FDT will be the President we need and his wife be a model First Lady. Their children will be a joy for the whole country to watch grow up.”

My point is you are in a strange place of taking a long shot dream and stating it as a fact. You're already all excited about watching their kids grow up......

Nature doesn’t seem to agree with you ... women cease producing ova in their mid-fifties, usually, but men continue to produce sperm into their seventies. You must be referring to something other than the science. Emotional setting perhaps?... Maybe seeming exploitation of a younger person by an older person?

No, it’s Rytuxin and it is very efective for those that have the right genotype. He obviously has the good genotype because the cancer is in remission.

Lymphoma patients I know and have observed that respond well to treatment feel they don’t have any effects from cancer. They live normal lifespans.

FDT said that precisely in the interview. Cancer patients out there will know he is speaking the truth.

This is really a nonissue but it has to bo through the process. The good thing is it will educate many people that not all cancers are death sentences.

You don’t know what you are reading.

Like Plutarch was told, don’t attempt to walk into the operating room and tell the surgeon what is what. It’s ridiculous, crazy, arrogant as well as dangerous.

All lymphomas are at risk of transitioning to an agressive form. But there is no risk of having such lymphomas affect a lifespan until the cancer reaches stage three. If caught early and the lymphoma is of the treatable type, then stage three will never be seen, hence lifespan never affected.

FDT is very fortunate in this and he did the precisely the right thing in the right way by getting the info out there before the opposition research smears FDT with the lie that he is only going to live two more years max.

No, it is not natural for men to have children at 65 whether they can or not, mostly because most 40 year old women are not attracted to 65 year old. Otherwise, more men would be doing it.

"Maybe seeming exploitation of a younger person by an older person?"

Nice try but no cigar. Thank God I had a decent father who also thought such things were wrong. The older I get the more I admire him for the fair man that he was.
