Marchers seek (ILLEGAL) immigrant rights

RALEIGH - Advocates of more rights for immigrant workers began a march in Raleigh this morning that will culminate in a religious service at noon at the state Capitol.

About 200 people are expected to participate in the two-hour service, said Gail Phares, director of the Carolina Interfaith Task Force on Central America, which organized the march, now in its 21st year.

Bishop F. Joseph Gossman, retired bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, and the Rev. Canon Michael Hunn of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina will be among the speakers.

About 30 people began today’s march at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church on Darby Street. They stopped at the N.C. Correctional Institution for Women and at Central Prison to pray for an end to the death penalty on their way to the Capitol.

Marchers began their annual Holy Week activities in Charlotte on Sunday. They also walked this week in Greensboro, Fayetteville, Goldsboro and Durham.

Marchers are calling for legal residency for illegal immigrants, reform of trade laws — which Phares said has led to poverty and unemployment in Mexico — and more safety protections for workers.

BTW, please note that I had to add in the missing word into the headline...the one that the N&O “forgot” (yeah right) to put in there. The key and important word. ILLEGAL.

Maybe we ought to organize a protest at the Mexican Consulate on Six Forks and Wake Forest. It almost solely exists to support illegal activity, after all.

They have the right to return home and get to the back of the immigration line with the rest of those who wish to immigrate here.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

“We’re being made the enemy.”

No, nobody has ever said you were the “enemy” If you see yourself as the “enemy” and that equates with the ones in the wrong, the ones doing the illegal activities, the ones who need to cease and desist, it’s because it’s true. Hello?

“We’re just hard workers.”

When? Where? More of you on average are collecting some type of assistance from the American government than actual American citizens. And when you do work, much of what you produce is shoddy and unfit to be passed by American inspectors, or Americans get sick.

“We’re trying to feed our families.”

HAHAHA Most of you didn’t have a family when you came here. You came here alone. Those “family” members were acquired AFTER you broke into this country. Anchor babies born after you came here don’t count as an excuse to disobey own laws and sneak across our borders. (By the way you still owe the hospitals and doctors for those births.)

Thank you for inserting the word “illegal”

But you should have also continued your most welcome editing endeavors and changed the word “immigrant” to the more accurate “alien”.

Immigrants already have most of the rights that American citizens have (except the right to vote)

There is NO need for IMMIGRANTS to march in a protest for those rights.

I’m a naturalized American citizen. In the 36 years I have lived in America I have never felt the urge or need to participate in a protest march for “immigrant rights” either as a REGISTERED ALIEN (Green Card) or a NATURALIZED AMERICAN CITIZEN.

Nor did I ever need a lawyer. Only people here illegally need an “immigration lawyer” (That should be a BIG red flag)

Expect your local leaders to arrest illegal alien criminals. Deport every one of them. Put fear into the equation......things will change. Expect the laws to be enforced. Vote out local leaders who do not follow the law. They are not protecting citizens lives, property. Visit and ask your local leaders why they are BETRAYING AMERICA.
