On his "Imus In The Morning" show Thursday, he referred to the Rutgers women's basketball team as "nappy-headed hos."

He was talking to Sid Rosenberg with Sports Talk on the phone about the Women's NCAA Championship game.

Imus started out talking about the Rutgers team as, "some rough girls from Rutgers. They got tattoos," and then went on to call them "some nappy-headed hos."....."

The conversation then went on to compare the game to "the jigaboos versus the wannabes." Media Matters reported that the show's executive producer, Bernard McGuirk, made that comment.

This is worse.

He’ll get a pass with some penance. He’s a lib after all.

If Rush said it he would be banned from radio.

Had he known Imus had said it, he should have said it himself, but not acknowledged he knew Imus had said it.

When the media went nuts, he could have said he was just repeating what their buddy said.

Nothing will come of this. Every liberal politician and journalist in the country has a standing invitation to bloviate on Imus' show. Imus has total joke immunity...

Worth remembering, though, the next time the Left attempts to lynch a conservative for opening her mouth...

It is, but McGuirk is not the celebrity Imus is. If Rush said that it would hit the fan big time.

Nappy headed hos, jigaboos and wannabees. Ratings must be really really low.

Newsflash: An idiot said something idiotic.

Good grief. The things some people consider newsworthy. :-)

Now that is egregious. [But Imus isn't a Conservative, so he'll probably survive the storm.]

In the latest ratings, Bill Bennett's excellent and well-mannered "Morning in America" out-rated Imus by 750,000 listeners nationwide. Bennett sets a very high bar, and he beats Imus. At the same time the Imus zoo was yakking about this, Bennett was having an insightful and intelligent--and courteous-- conversation with a highly placed Washington insider, and out-drawing the sleaze. That says something good about us.

The MSNBC part of Imus's ratings are up.

CNN Chief Cites 'Anchor Chemistry' For Switch

"..In March, "Fox & Friends" led the cable news pack, averaging 692,000 viewers from 6 to 9 a.m., a decline of 7 percent over a year earlier. "American Morning" averaged 376,000 viewers, up 2 percent. MSNBC's simulcast of the Don Imus radio show showed the greatest growth, averaging 354,000, a 35 percent jump over a year ago..."

FYI..Sid Rosenberg used toi have a show on WFAN, Imus’ home station, and he also used to do the sports on the Imus show. One day he referred to the two Williams sisters in some derogatory way, and Imus suspended him from the show..Rosenberg has alcohol, gambling, and drug problems, and he was later fired from his own program
