Second national poll confirms Fred Thompson's rising fortunes (Rudy 26%, McCain 16%, Thompson 14%)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 4/3/07

Posted on 04/03/2007 6:29:03 PM PDT by LdSentinal

The addition of former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson (R) to the list of candidates shakes up the race for the GOP Presidential nomination.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) remains on top, but his support dips below the 30% mark for the first time in seven weeks. With Thompson in the mix, Giuliani’s support tumbles to 26%, down nine points from a week ago. That’s the lowest level of support measured for Giuliani in any Rasmussen Reports poll this year.

Support for Arizona Senator John McCain remains steady at 16%, but McCain’s hold on second place is threatened by Thompson. The movie star turned Senator turned TV star weighs in with 14% support among those likely to vote in a GOP primary. Among Very Conservative voters, Giuliani attracts 20% support followed closely by Thompson at 19%, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 18% and McCain at 14%.

Really cool how McCain consistently shows no sign of positive movement, almost no matter what the poll.

Thompson is fulfilling his role. Take votes away from other candidates in the hopes his friend’s fortunes rise. Thompson is McCain’s very good friend.

"Thompson is McCain’s very good friend."

Hillary's is Rudy's good friend and clone. (except Hillary isn't a gun grabber).

Hillary and Rudy aren’t friends.

And Hillary would never decrease taxes 23 times like Rudy did. And Hillary wants to cut and run from Iraq. Hillary hates the military and law enforcement. I could go on but it’s much more amusing for me to watch the politically naive, like you, pretend that a Republican you don’t like is just like Her Shrillness. Carry on.

Are you serious that Hitlery is no gun grabber? You really must hate Rudy to make a comment like that.

Evidence?

I’m watching that squirrel,Hannity, interview Gulianni with pudgeball questions about did we do the “right thing” in Iraq. He won’t ask him why he wants to kill babies and loves to dress in drag. The main essence of the interview is “how much money do you have in the bank?” “How do you FEEL about hillary?” God help the sheeple.

Fortunately, enough people have determined that McCain is a vain, untrustworthy backstabbing, opportunistic, selfish whack-job. He is the Republican equivalent of Hillary Clinton.

politically naive

That's funny...I've run for political offices nine times...from Mayor to Selectman to Town Moderator to State Representative...won nine times. What's your record of success in political elections?

I bet it drives McCain up the wall to realize that he isn’t nearly as popular as he always imagined himself to be.

Makes me laugh.

At tonight's Seattle Mariners Game our local conservative talk radio station KVI 570 is giving out IM A FRED HEAD stickers at their booth. KVI has at least 2 local host that are on fire for Fred Thompson, as are their callers.

Hillary knows she has to have the southern vote. That means lots of hunters and guns. She’ll back RKBA without question.

what southern vote? she needs to win Ohio, or a combination of NM+NV+CO, to take the presidency. she doesn’t need any votes in the south.

What is RKBA? Hitlery has already worked behind the scenes on gun control. She won’t be able to fool those good ‘ol boys.
