Word is that global warming has allowed them to move their range northward - they're now able to feast on drowning polar bears.

Bushes fault - Women, children and polar bears hardest hit.

They decided to take them off and put elk on.

Most of the elk in the yellowstone heard have been eaten by the grizzlies and wolves.

Only 10% as many available for hunters. A few more years more and there will be no elk in and aroound yellostone.

I would suggest that we send the House Dem Leadership on a grizzly fact-finding junket to Yellowstone. They can sleep in the wild. Make sure they take plenty of munchies with them.

I could have told them that 20 years ago. Lived in Wyoming for 20+years and in 1987 we packed in 22 miles to the Two Ocean pass area (just on the southeast corner outside of yellowstone). I shot a bull moose on the hunt as well as hunting elk. We encountered 11 grizzlies in the 10 days and saw 4 elk. Had a sow and cub come into camp mid-day during the period. I encountered a cub while walking through some willows on another day. Adds a new dimension to hunting!

So does this mean I can go grizzly hunting? I have always wanted to do that with a black powder rifle. Y'know, get in touch with my frontier roots.

Lack of elk? We have 10,000 of 'em in Mt and WY.

They must be way North of Yellowstone.

The North Yellowstone herd is mostly gone.

Wait until the wolves spread north, and there won't be many left.

Probably due as much to the over development around Yellowstone as to the bears. Had a cow elk living behind the house a couple of years back, she had tags in her year and was tame. Some jackass shot her and thought he was a real hunting stud.

Probably due as much to the over development around Yellowstone as to the bears.

The Yellowstone herd is not in areas that are being developed. There are a few who hang around developed areas, such as the lawns in the town of Gardner which is just outside the North park boundary, but most are spread out in the park and National Forest.

The snow gets too deep so they move out of the park to winter grazing areas. The winter grazing areas are reserves where they graze, and later in winter, they are fed hay.
