There were many of us fighting to keep the old Naval Base intact. We could have used it for many purposes, but the City of Long Beach and the Port Authority were focused on intent they WERE going to demolish it and lease it to COSCO for a Container Terminal.

"Leading the effort to block COSCO from the facility were Sen. James M. Inhofe, R-OK"

Its always nice to see an Oklahoma senator front and center back then.

Ah yes, Long Beach, where longshoremen make over $150K per year. Sorry, I have no sympathy for these unions that are actively engaged in extortion. Without wage parity, I say close it down.

Great...please let me know what you think.

If you like it, and are so inclined, please consider a review here on FR and spreading the word.

See!

This is just proof that Duncan Hunter is a protectionist. He doesn't believe in fair trade!!!!!!

Thanks so much. If you ever get the chance, please consider a review here on FR or at Amazon. Since it's self published, like I say, the more people who talk about it, the better.

I'll print a few pages to bring with me to a banquet I'm going too. Ann Coulter and Star Parker will be there.

I'll do my best for the written review. I'm not a writer. I will try though.

Thanks Pishy, To have the Chinese control one of our old bases gives me the willys.

Some day troop ships could be disembarking at the same site. I do not like the Chinese controlling the Panama canal, sub-orbital space, and Tibet.

They leave a mess and a lack of freedom wherever they go.

Murder and genocide in Tibet was obscured by them. They bully the borderlands of teh Himalayan States, and often build roads across borders for troop movements. None of this is reported in the news.( Just look at the news from Buthan.) Hunter is ABSOLUTELY right about China. But then they bought BJ Clinton and Sec. Commerce Ron Brown years ago, when BJ moved the tech review of sensitive US Defence technology away from the State Dept. to commerce, and then opened the spigot to the Chinese. BJ benefited from that as did the Dem party.

Gore was caught with his hands in the China till at the Buddhist monastry fundraiser scam, a front for the Red Army donating to the Dems.

Yes, Red Chian LOVES the Dems, and it aint no wonder why. The Dems under Carter and later Clinton gave Red China the gateway to conquering the West.

One more good reason to take Duncan Hunter seriously as a presidential candidate.

The Cato Institute and the LP were, I'm sure, deeply saddened...

Know anybody else talking about China today?

No I don't, and I'd sure like to know why.

"At the least, it would provide them an excellent opportunity to smuggle in hundreds of thousands of spies and illegals."

China may have more influence than We think. The house in the recent Meth bust in Mexico where $206 million was found, was occupied by at least 2 Chinese nationals.

The fact that Rep. Hunter is suspicious of China is not without reason.

Thank heaven someone in Congress has working brainparts.

It's Jane Harman's district, but the only time we hear from her is when re-election time is coming up. I think there's only two American companies in LA/LB harbor now - the rest are foreign.

Well, with Jane Harman, it could be worse. Unlike most Dems, She is known to have been reasonable on defense matters on occasions. (On other occasions, not.)
