MESA, Ariz. Human and drug-smuggling organizations in Mexico are getting their guns from the same places law-abiding U.S. citizens are getting theirs: licensed gun dealers and gun shows, according to court documents.
"There's an iron river of guns flowing to Mexico," said special agent Thomas Mangan, spokesman for the Phoenix office of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Well Special Agent Mangan, its called trade. Maybe you and your fellows would do better helping out the Border Patrol, since its pretty clear that they are understaffed, rather than infringing the rights of US citizens (which is the stock-and-trade of BATFE right now.

If I were the average Mexican citizen, myself and my family would be armed to the proverbial teeth, rapes, murders kidnappings, random muggings, robberies all abound in Mexico.
Shoot a few of these thugs and watch their weaselly backsides go try and find greener pastures and easier victims.

Looters of Mexico

After spending several years starting oil exploration crews for Pemex and re-reading Atlas Shrugged, I think I have The reason Mexico has become so bad.
I like the Mexican people in the fly over parts of Mexico. The mid level and workers of Pemex are good. It is the government and the high up in Pemex that are the vultures and looters. The peso was about 8 cents (12.5 to a dollar). When Pemex found the sito grande, a very large oil pool that covers parts of the states of Chiapas and Tabasco also a long ways into the Gulf of Mexico.
Pemex borrowed billions to produce this great oil find. The looters (government) stole most of the money and what they did buy was junk oil rigs and drill pipe, etc. 1,000 pesos which was worth about $80 now will not buy a coke. This was due to the looters stealing billions from the Mexican people.
Instead of overthrowing the looters the Mexican people had an out, they had no weapons and they could cross into America and have a much safer life. This hurts both Mexico and America as Mexico lost some of it's hardest workers. The gangbangers also came over from Mexico as they could rape and pillage at will.
The government of Mexico is propped up by the billions sent back by the illegals and by our government having borders that are too open.
The only chance I see to help America and Mexico is to seal the border, deport the people who are not here legally. We also need to arm the Mexican people so they can have a chance against the looters with their armies.

Damn. Mexico should immediately erect a fence to stop this flow of illegal guns.

I wonder if the three brothers making the straw purchases are legal citizens of the US?

The great American author and desert rat Edward Abbey once said the best way to fix the immigration problem was to capture the would-be entrants at the border, give each one a rifle, and send them back. "The will know what to do".
If we are going to be forced to deal with the unending flow of human debris that washes up in our prisons (estimated 1/3 of California inmates are illegals) then I have zero sympathy for the unending flow of guns into Mexico.
Good! Hopefully ordinary citzens end up well enough armed to kill the government/police/bandido/narotrafficantes who hold them down.
May all the corrupt of Mexico choke on American lead!

That's why .38 Supers are so hard to find in the southwest.

What a surprise, open borders work both ways. Maybe this is how we could get the liberals on board to secure our borders..preventing gun proliferation. Get the UN involved and all the liberals will be screaming for us to control our borders to stop proliferation of these deadly weapons.
If we could show that cigarettes are smuggled across the border there would be even more screaming for the borders to be closed.
Just a thought.

Well I know what I'm aiming for if I ever get transferred to the factory in Mexico...
.38 super, 9x23, or 10mm in a 1911

10mm 1911? I thought all the 1911s are 45s.

1911'S Have been produced in 9mm, 10mm, .38 Super, 9x21, 9x23 and .40 S&W to name a few. The .45 is most common.
To: Tijeras_Slim
Thanx. After I posted my response, I saw the 10mms on the Gun Selector website. Learn something new every day! Any concerns about .10mm ammo being somewhat unusual? I like 9mm and .45ACP because it is so commonly available.

10mm is sort of a cult caliber, much like .41 Magnum in revolvers. The original loadings were pretty hot, and with no "mid-range" load hard to handle for some shooters. That led to the creation of the .40 S&W. Availability of 10mm is OK in the states, but nothing like the number of loadings in 9mm and .45.
I'm a big fan of the .38 Super which Colt came out with in the 20's. The original guns were inaccurate because of headspacing problems, but later one's are good. The round can be loaded about as hot as a .357 Mag but kicks like a 9mm, and has a mag capacity of 9 for a 9+1 carry.
To: Tijeras_Slim
Thanx for the info.
I really like the 9mms, due mostly to what you said about availability of various loads. I use the Beretta PX4 for home defense, since it has a 17 round capacity, even though my instructor strongly advised a .45 cal 1911. I think using the right rounds, the 9mm has almost as good stopping power as the .45s, but debate on this is huge as I am sure you already know. (The PX4 is too bulky for carry, however.)

The debate is eternal....
As a friend of mine says in his tagline on a gun forum.

Do I even need to suggest that we propose a trade.... ?
