Impossible! The Federal government dispurse what, tens of trillions of dollars a year? Everyone wants to buy influence to that disbursement. In turn pols need to sell themselves to the public to get control of that. Money and politics are like bread and butter.

For example, "Fast Eddie" Rendell, governor of Pennsylvania, used to be Philadelphia's mayor.
