LONDON (Reuters) - A man accused of being involved in a plot to kidnap and kill a British Muslim soldier will face trial early next year, a London court heard on Friday. Parviz Khan, 36, is accused of "intention to kidnap and kill a member of the British armed forces" in a plan media reports said would involve copying militants' tactics in Iraq by beheading the soldier and posting the killing on the Internet. The father-of-four was one of a group of men arrested in Birmingham in a major anti-terrorism operation last month.
Khan and four other suspects appeared via video link at the Old Bailey charged with various terrorism offences. Khan and the other men, Mohammed Irfan, 30, Zahoor Iqbal, 29, Hamid Elasmar, 43, and Amjad Mahmood, 31, are all charged with one count of funding terrorism and one count of supplying terrorists. Mahmood, is also charged with failing to disclose information which might have been of "material assistance" in preventing the kidnap plot.
During Friday's 90 minute hearing -- much of which cannot be reported for strict British legal reasons -- the court heard that due to the mountain of information, a "realistic" trial date would be late next year, possibly in the men's home town.

They seem to be able to find people who want to kill Muslims easily enough ......
Isn't it interesting they are willing to quickly and loudly proclaim the religious affilation of the British soldier involved (Muslim) but not the religion of the alledged perp (also Muslim).
A guy named Khan wants to kill British soldiers eh. Well, at the end of The Charge of the Light Brigade the 21st Lancers use a guy named Khan as a pin-cushion.
