Group Asks School To Discipline Teacher Over Anti-Islam Handouts(cair)

RALEIGH, N.C. -- National Islamic advocates on Wednesday asked Wake County schools officials to discipline a teacher they say allowed anti-Islam literature to be distributed in his class.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, wrote Superintendent Del Burns asking that the incident at Enloe High School be investigated.

According to the council, a representative from the Raleigh-based Kamil International Ministries Organization spoke to a ninth-grade world history class and distributed literature about Jesus and a handout titled "Do Not Marry a Muslim Man."

The incident was reported by the father of a Muslim student, CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said.

Burns had not yet received the letter, but an investigation is under way and officials will take appropriate disciplinary action, school district spokeswoman Kristin Flenniken said.

A call by The Associated Press to the high school's principal, Beth Cochran, was not immediately returned Wednesday.

Hooper said the allegations were troubling and could be part of a trend of anti-Muslim rhetoric in American society.

"It creates mistrust, fosters prejudice and intolerance and we have to deal with it," he said.

The Kamil International Ministries Organization is a Christian group with a declared mission to "raise an awareness of the danger of Islam," according to its Web site.

A phone number for the organization could not be found. An e-mail to the group wasn't immediately returned Wednesday.

What creates and fosters prejudice and intolerance, arethe actions of Islamist, their intolerance, their hatred and their hate-driven feelings to kill, destroy and meddle with all cultures that are not radically muslim. When is this world going to tell Islam that their evil behavior is no longer tolerated?

Well we can't allow that can we, after all the Muslim countries and so willing to prevent any anti-Judeo/Christian trends.

What happened to the First Amendment? Freedom of speech?

The Raleigh area was a gathering place for Palestinian refugees for some reason back in the 1990's. They have taken root.

It sure would be nice if an address for this superintendent could be provided so that non-islamic filth citizens could write him respectful letters suggesting that the first amendment is something that applies to and enjoyed by all citizens, not just cair trash.

I'm sure there would have been similar outrage if they handed out anti-Christian literature...

Screw CAIR. CAIR had some sort of problem with Stuck Mojo's song "Open Season" as the video contained actual clips of state-sponsored TV from the Middle East and actual footage of suicide bombers marching around. Showing their real TV shows and real activities seems to be bad in CAIR's book. They said the song encouraged hate for Muslims, but it basically says "If you come around here to harm my family, I will kill you."

I wonder what CAIR thought of Stuck Mojo using actual statements about Islam from a former terrorist in another track. They must not have heard that one.

Me thinks CAIR has been, is and will be, a huge problem for America and those real Americas still living there...

Go "Ward Churchill."

Scream racism, wrap yourself in the 1st amendment and call your accusers little Eichmans. That would make liberal heads explode.

Muslim men can marry non-Muslim women; Muslim women are forbidden (usually also killed) for even thinking about marrying a non-Muslim.

I don't think that teacher should be a teacher anymore. I'd insist on making him Secretary of Education.

I certainly pray he is right.

"Hooper said the allegations were troubling and could be part of a trend of anti-Muslim rhetoric in American society."

And does he think that this "trend" just happened? Does he not see that the actions of Muslims here and abroad have caused very hard feeling across the country? I don't recall hearing from Mr. Hooper or CAIR last week when the shootings in Salt Lake City occurred and it came out that the shooter was a Bosnian Muslim. Why do we never hear from CAIR when Muslims commit crimes against non-Muslims? Why is the Muslim community, as a whole, silent about these things? We only hear from them when they have another lame complaint to lodge concerning, usually, an imagined slight.

I'd be interested to know from Mr. Hooper as to exactly what point in time did he and CAIR notice a ratcheting up of, what he interprets as, anti-Muslim rhetoric. Could it have been around September 11, 2001, and many awful events beyond? Did Muslims in this country feel persecuted before 9/11? I sincerely doubt it? Mr.Hooper has to understand that if you wake that proverbial sleeping dog he is, at the very least, going to growl. If you keep at him, he most probably will bite.
