wasn't geffen a big FOB?:
Yes he was. Geffen, Katzenberg and Spielberg gave monster amounts of soft money to the DNC during Slick's years in the WH. They also donated heavily to his presidential library. I understand that Geffen is not on speaking terms with either Bill or Hillary now, and he is doing all he can to push Obama. The fundraiser that Spielberg and Katzenberg agreed to throw for Hillary in the near future is not going to be a pretty picture, I'll bet a lot of people who used to roll out the red carpet for the Clintons will be "out of town" or "have a previous engagement."
if hollywierd can't support hillary, how is she ever going to get the nomination?:
She won't be the nominee.
"She won't be the nominee."
I wouldn't be so sure, we've got a long way to go.
Well, there is a certain amount of inertia with these things ... Dole in '96, Gore in '00, Mondale in '84 ...
The 'exciting' candidate, like Gary Hart in 84, or Bradley or McCain in 2000, never quite makes it against the 'machine' candidate.
Hillary is the Ultimate Machine Candidate, with Bill in the background.
Obama??? He's like a Jimmy Carter candidate. Too little experience to have any baggage so everyone loves him (at first) ... still, he is an inexperienced underperforming Socialist, and the only trick is to fool people into thinking he is someone else up until the time it comes to vote.
Hillary didn't get into this race to be outflanked by some novelty-candidate from Chicago. This fight is still in the first minute of Round One.
