"One would think the court would have some real criminals to prosecute. "

These folks are actually doing far more harm to society than your ordinary robber by encouraging further degeneration of morals. The robber can take material goods but is not the social cancer the incestuous couple represents.

Be serious. This is an isolated incident, not a "movement".

His sister was 21 when he was sentenced, sometime after November 2005. This means she was 17 or younger when their first child was born in 2001

If they had sentenced him then, that would have been the right thing to do.

But now they have four children and the sister WANTS to live with him. So what pint does it serve to lock them both up now and have their children be brought up in an orphanage or in foster homes?

"Be serious. This is an isolated incident, not a "movement".

These people don't have to be affiliated with a group to represent a social threat, and it's everybody else's job to condemn this in order to not encourage it in others. Morals degenerate through a whole series of seperate incidents which nontheless point to overall moral degeneration. No organized "movement" is necessary. After all, at the beginning of the sexual revolution, a lot of people seperately decided that sex outside of marriage was all right, and now we have a much higher incidence of illegitimacy. Every divorce is a seperate incident rather than a movement. Some people believe that "anything goes". That sets a certain moral tone, and those of us who want to attempt to "hold the liine" project another moral tone.

The Texas law a few years back striking down the sodomy laws on the basis of privacy and the 14th ?amendment...we're headed down this slope full steam ahead.
