I hope some thought is given to also watching the WWII and Korean War Memorials.
If the anarchists can't get to the Wall, they may just deface the Memorials to our other fallen soldiers just because they are maggots.

1. The "THESE COLORS DON'T RUN" national patriotic, pro-troop caravan across the nation (collecting American flags at each stop to bring to D.C. for a giant "Flag City" sea of positive, pro-troop, patriotic red, white & blue to counter the negativity and defeatism of the anti-war crowd:

Will you PING me with an After Action Rport of the Press Conference please? I'd be interested in knowing which media outlets attended, what their questions were and whether the question was asked of them why they give disproportionate coverage of the anti-war protests and very little of the pro-troop rallies.
Hold their feet to the fire. Confront them about their lack of coverage of the capitol steps being painted and their selective editing of video that doesn't show the really violent and radical signs and chanting of the hard core Anmarchists/Marxists at these protests.

The local TV news programs (WAVY,WTKR, WVEC) are giving this coverage, not overtly encouraging people to head for The Wall and join the protectors, but strongly hinting that it would be a great idea to protect The Wall from the antiwar nutcases.

I hope no one forgets about the other memorials in the area. They'll need guarding too. The "loathe the military" crowd tends not to be too picky about fine distinctions between wars, and the veterans who served in them.
If I were President, I'd assign a couple of platoons of Marines to each Memorial. Just in case you know. Or, to keep it legal, a couple of platoons of National Guardsmen at each memorial.
