The Nation magazine thought Josip Stalin was the best General Secretary ever.

Jimmy Carter is not only the "worst President ever" but also the "worst Ex-President ever".

Carter has a perpetual lock on that honor, Grammy or not.

I used to subscribe to the Nation. It's filled with hatred; virtually every article was "here's another reason for us super-smart people to hate conservatives and President Bush."
It got boring.
But, thanks to THE NATION, I now understand the meaning of sophism.

And he glosses over Carter like he was never there.

No mention of Carter. That tells me the article is biased and bogus.
Carter is the baseline. Woe be unto this nation if we ever have a president more incompetent.
To: presidio9
The name "Carter" does not appear in this article. And "Clinton" is mentioned tangentially.
How odd.

We have three real good worst president nominees just in my lifetime: Ol' Slick Clinton, Mr. Peanut Carter, and El-BJ.

Jimmy Carter is not only the "worst President ever" but also the "worst Ex-President ever". Not to be confused with William Jefferson Blythe Sinkemperor Clinton, the worst person ever to be President.

The worst mangler of the English language? Ever since the atom bomb was dropped, we've had a whole string of bozos who cannot pronounce the word "nuclear." How much should that count against them? Gosh, if pronunciation is the standard, I nominate JFK. He could not even pronounce the name of the country he launched an attack against. He thought Cuba had an "R" in it.
Seriously, Jimmy Carter is definitely the winner in my lifetime.

Is George Bush the worst President in American history? No. He was dealt one of the ugliest hands in presedential history, though ... the attacks on 9/11, the ensuing war on terror (a very expensive one), an economy making the adjustment to wartime and the price of oil, etc. How he has managed to keep his sanity is beyond me.

Carter. Not even close. Not only the worst president, but a pretty crappy human being as well.
n his 1982 presidential memoir, Carter cited as his biggest mistake "allowing Ronald Reagan to become President of the United States."
To: presidio9
The article is a load of crap. Waste of premium paper and cyberspace also.

What a nasty piece of trash writing. It contains so much denigration and condescension about American presidents that it could only have been written by someone who really doesn't believe America is worth much. As far as the "worst" President, rarely do these people try to quantify the damage that is done by Presidents who FAIL TO ACT.
