The first guy to cop a plea in the Hamdania will be released next month--after serving 10 months for a murder charge. Hell's bells, I would have taken that deal, too.

Unfreakenbelievable when you think about it.

I know. It is a real travesty as to what has been going on. All the more reason general Mattis and his advisor's must carefully weight how things should end.
Besides. It is about frigen time these JAG and others realize those goons in Iraq that did the accusations just may be taken out soon by Iraqi and US troops as they make their planned sweeps through Baggy Dad. Their wishes for revenge against these fine Marines may soon be a mute point at best.
And that goes for Maliki as well. He is a new man. He has seen the light. He now realizes his troops and ours must start to kill a lot of low life Shia goons, and figure out a way to take fatso out of the political arena and mind control business.
As for the NCSI, things had better start shaping up. They have how been pretty well exposed regarding their incompetence.

First thing we need to do is shitcan that organization called JAG.

Get rid of the Defense Department Lawyers and replace them with Warriors.

Per Gen. Tom McInerney:

As reported previously by NewsMax.com, Haditha Accusations Unmasked, the Marine Corps has adopted highly restricted rules of engagement based on false information about the Haditha incident, a fact that disturbed Gen. McInerney.

"Now every time they fire a weapon they have to fill out paper work," he said. "When guys are being fired upon in combat the oversight is unbelievable. We cannot fight a war like that. We just cannot have such perfect, strict peacetime thinking in wartime rules of engagement. We're not taking care of our people."

This, he said "is one of the reasons why we have not had more decisive results [on the ground in Iraq].

Helloooo!? If this is true, this isn't war; this is a police action in a terrorist environment.

Hate to say it, but somehow the Bush Doctrine has been turned on its head. President Bush always accused the Dims of thinking terrorism was a problem for law enforcement. So just where the heck are we now???

Bacos?

Why not? He still gets a General (Under Honorable) discharge which can be upgraded late to an honorable, something EVERYONE accused of murder gets in the Military....

I would love to see these Marines NOT have to go to trial. This is SO unjust! But I REALLY, REALLY want Murtha held accountable. His actions were despicable and dismissing the case without a trial doesn't disprove Murtha's assertions. It doesn't allow these Marines to clear their good names. How do people like Murtha pay for their actions? The people of Pennsylvania had an opportunity to hold him responsible for his words in the last election and he was handily reelected. I don't want to see him go about his merry little way while these Marines pay the price for his words.

Just noticed something on the Fox News website, in the bio for General McInerney. According to the site, after retiring from the Air Force, the general “led the Pentagon's 'reinventing government' effort.”

Made me think the general has probably butted heads with John “The Pentagon Does What I Say” Murtha. Sure wish I could sit down with General McInerney for a talk.

I'm pretty sure General McInerney wouldn't speak to the despicable Murtha unless it was absolutely necessary. I've seen General McInerney and his stare when he has gotten upset with another speaker, it's a stare I wouldn't want directed at me.

"Capitol Hill staffers who have long observed Mr. Murtha's attempts to secure jets for Congressional use say his motive is not so much to get a jet reserved for the Speaker -- but to gradually expand their availability to other members of the leadership. "The goal has always been to have the plane 'earmarked' for the Speaker, but available to other Congressional leaders at the Speaker's 'discretion,'" was how one former staffer put it. For now, it appears that Ms. Pelosi will have to do with the same small jet that ferried GOP Speaker Denny Hastert around in the wake of 9/11. As for Mr. Murtha, his expansion plans for the use of military jets have been grounded --for now."

Have you boys noticed how much more arrogant Murtha's been lately? He's now openly saying that he controls the cash and the Pentagon will do whatever he wants.

'Bout time for a revolt of the generals, I'd say.

BTW, smooth, do you have a link for that article? ;)

General McInerney and Senator Cornyn just appeared on the O'Reilly show and ripped Bill Arkin over what he said in that column calling our military mercenaries.

O'Reilly asked the General if he was really mad about what Arkin said or just a little upset. He said he thinks Arkin is a "lowlife scumbag" among other things. It was great!
