Jordanian Monarch Warns of Israeli Constructions beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque

Monday February 05, 2007 00:45 by Rami Almeghari - IMEMC&Agencies rami at imemc dot org

The King of Jordan, Abdullah II, warned Sunday of harm to the holy Islamic sites of Jerusalem, condemning all Israeli attempts to damage the Al-Aqsa mosque, especially the road leading to the Bab Almagharba gate which is close to the western wall of the mosque.

The Jordanian Monarch considered such a road as a part and parcel of the Al-Aqsa mosque.

King Abullah’s remarks came during a meeting with a number of Israeli Arab members of Israeli parliament (Kenneset).

His majesty reiterated his country’s full support to Palestinian residents of Arab towns in Israel, pledging more facilitation for them to keep in contact with the Arab world.

Promised facilitations included increasing the number of Arab pilgrims who travel to the holy city of Makkah via Jordan, and doubling the number of places for Arab students at Jordan’s universities.

The king of Jordan's warning comes as the Israeli occupation authorities in East Jerusalem recently commenced construction work beneath the Al-Aqsa mosque. This iassue casts concerns among Muslims over the likely collapse of the mosque, considered to be the third holiest site for almost 1.4 billion Muslims worldwide.

Now, would this be the site where the Jews rebuild the temple where the crown is and the anti-Christ visits and places the crown on his head? Just curious.

If a sinkhole were to appear under the mosque... would they consider it the will of Allah?

I am not sure what you mean about a crown.

But the Temple that will exist at the time of the Anti-Christ, will be where the Anti-Christ enters the Holies of Holies (inside the Temple) and declares himself God. The Temple will be re-built somewhere in and around the Temple Mount.

Pardon my ignorance on this. But I had heard somewhere that he placed a crown on his head.

The Temple will be re-built somewhere in and around the Temple Mount.

Is that the subject of this story? That's what I'm wondering.

So Jordan supports the Pali's. Is that why they massacred a whole slew of them a while back? Now that is some support for Palestine that I can get behind!

Jordanian Monarch Warns of Israeli Constructions beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque....

The Paleoswinians have been digging under the Temple Mount for years, trying to erase evidence of the First and Second Temples. Now they're worried about a collapse and, as usual, it'll be the fault of DA JOOOOOOOOS!

This issue casts concerns among Muslims over the likely collapse of the mosque, considered to be the third holiest site for almost 1.4 billion Muslims worldwide.

"This issue casts concerns among Muslims over the likely collapse of the mosque, considered for the last 39 years and 8 months to be the third holiest site for almost 1.4 billion Muslims worldwide." There, fixed it.

OK, that's not entirely true. HERE is the truth:

The Moslem Claim to Jerusalem is False
There were no mosques in Jerusalem in 632CE when the Prophet Mohammed died... Jerusalem was [then] a Christian city

by Dr. Manfred R. Lehmann

The Moslem "claim" to Jerusalem is based on what is written in the Koran, which although Jerusalem is not mentioned even once, nevertheless talks (in Sura 17:1) of the "Furthest Mosque": "Glory be unto Allah who did take his servant for a journey at night from the Sacred Mosque to the Furthest Mosque." But is there any foundation to the Moslem argument that this "Furthest Mosque" (Al-Masujidi al-Aqtza) refers to what is today called the Aksa Mosque in Jerusalem? The answer is, none whatsoever.

In the days of Mohammed, who died in 632 of the Common Era, Jerusalem was a Christian city within the Byzantine Empire. Jerusalem was captured by Khalif Omar only in 638, six years after Mohammed's death. Throughout all this time there were only churches in Jerusalem, and a church stood on the Temple Mount, called the Church of Saint Mary of Justinian, built in the Byzantine architectural style.

The Aksa Mosque was built 20 years after the Dome of the Rock, which was built in 691-692 by Khalif Abd El Malik. The name "Omar Mosque" is therefore false. In or around 711, or about 80 years after Mohammed died, Malik's son, Abd El-Wahd - who ruled from 705-715 - reconstructed the Christian- Byzantine Church of St. Mary and converted it into a mosque. He left the structure as it was, a typical Byzantine "basilica" structure with a row of pillars on either side of the rectangular "ship" in the center. All he added was an onion-like dome on top of the building to make it look like a mosque. He then named it El-Aksa, so it would sound like the one mentioned in the Koran.

Therefore it is crystal clear that Mohammed could never have had this mosque in mind when he compiled the Koran, since it did not exist for another three generations after his death. Rather, as many scholars long ago established, it is logical that Mohammed intended the mosque in Mecca as the "Sacred Mosque," and the mosque in Medina as the "Furthest Mosque." So much for the Moslem claim based on the Aksa Mosque.

With this understood, it is no wonder that Mohammed issued a strict prohibition against facing Jerusalem in prayer, a practice that had been tolerated only for some months in order to lure Jews to convert to Islam. When that effort failed, Mohammed put an abrupt stop to it on February 12, 624. Jerusalem simply never held any sanctity for the Moslems themselves, but only for the Jews in their domain.

'Nuf said. Not only are Moslem claims to Temple Mount bogus, so are all of their claims to Yerushalayim and, in fact, so is their entire religion. It is all lies.

Off the top of my head, their is no crown, but the Anti-Christ will declare himself a God there.

The subject of this story is that the Palis are making noises about the mosque on the Temple Mount being endangered by what the Israelis are doing there. The truth of the matter is that the Palis have been digging around and endangering their own mosque with their excavations under the Temple Mount trying to destroy any evidence of the Jews historically. There have been cracks seen in the past years in the Wailing Wall. They want to blame the Jews if anything happens. Typical.

Assuming the Mosque itself is not the figurative 'Temple'....

Not possible. The al-aqsa mosque is a mosque. The Temple will be the reconstructed Temple, the third one in history. It is thought the mosque will be in the Court of the Gentiles which will be outside of where the Temple will be.

A Moslem "holy site" is created whenever the Mahometans destroy whatever was there to begin with (church, synagogue, Hindu temple, Buddhist shrine, etc.) and construct their mosque on top of it.

You should have posted this article with a disclaimer and "triple barf" alert regarding the web site on which it appeared: International Middle East Media Center.

From the "About Us" page on the web site:

IMEMC is a media center developed in collaboration between Palestinian and International journalists to provide independent English language media coverage of Israel-Palestine.

IMEMC provides fair and comprehensive coverage of events and developments in Israel-Palestine.

Being a joint Palestinian-International effort, IMEMC combines Palestinian journalists' understanding of the context, history, and the socio-political environment with International journalists' skill in non-partisan reporting.

Enough said. As much truth and accuracy here as in the Soviets' Pravda!

Yeah, I was thinking of that original "Apocalypse coming" book by Hal Lindsey too.

But, in this case, the ARABS are expanding the scope of what THEY want to consider the "temple" grounds, rather than extremist (Zionist) Jews actually beginning to rebuild the temple. This area is apparently a road going up the hill outside of BOTH the original temple and the later mosque.
