Iran's first-generation missiles will have a range of up to 1,240 miles but, with Pyongyang's help, it hopes to boost that to 9,000 miles or so within years.

North Korea is also helping Iran on its nuclear program. Putting the two together, Iran could have nuclear missiles within a decade able to reach the U.S., Western Europe, Russia, even China. ...the U.S. has repeatedly sought stiff sanctions through the U.N.'s Security Council. Unfortunately, Russia and China have consistently watered down any punitive sanctions. ...

Further rubbing salt in the wound, the EU has signed energy deals with Iran totaling more than $10 billion. It has extended about $18 billion in government loan guarantees. ...

How about Russia, which once vowed to stand with the U.S. in its war on terror? Well, Russia this week said it hoped to have Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant up and running by September, in violation of U.N. resolutions. Russia is also pushing to lift a ban on international aid to the terrorist group Hamas, an Iranian client.

In addition to its burgeoning nuclear ties to Iran, Russia has billions in loans out to the Iranian regime. ...

No longer a superpower, Russia hopes to join with Iran to control the world oil market. That would let Iran pursue terrorism and spread radical Islam, and help Russia regain superpower status.

Already Russia provides the EU with 40% of its natural gas imports and 30% of its oil. The EU won't take on Iran, so don't expect it to pressure Russia, its main energy source.

China is no better. It signed a $3.6 billion natural gas deal last month, and vowed to help Iran develop its $18 billion Pars oil field. ...

So thanks, Europe. Thanks, Russia. Thanks, China. Hope someday we can return the non-favor.

Two Words:

Missile Shield

Shame on those who tried to stop the deployment of high tech defense tool. Remember all the yo-yo's talking about how a shield was worthless, because they could just use a boat, etc. And yet, here they are spending their billions to develop strategic missiles, just as predicted. No regime recognizes a slow moving, uncontrollable ship as a viable alternative to a missile.

History may never recognize what we owe this President. By making the outcome uncertain, it will be very difficult for a lower tech enemy to blackmail or destroy us with strategic missles for decades to come.
