Part of Mt. Baekdu was reportedly ceded to China by Kim Il-sung, previous N. Korean leader, as an "appreciation" for China coming to the rescue of N. Korea during Korean War.

Such an open protest in Asian Game would rile Chinese regime badly.

Pinko gov. of S. Korea turned into a p*ssy when it comes to China, because they were so fixated on pro-North and anti-American stance that they are willing to kowtow to Chinese regime if it helps their cause.

Basically their argument is that NK is an illegitimate country and had no right to give any territory to China. I would agree with them.

I also agree that the SK governmnt going back at least 10 years have been way too nice to NK and get nothing in return but more headaches.

you know nothing about china-korea historic relationship.

Korea had been imperial china's vassales for over 1000 years before sino-Japan war in 1895.
before the 4th century,North Korea was even directly- ruled chinese provinces.

Well, one way to solve all the disagreements and the N. Korean crisis is to make N. Korea part of China. China would be able to absorb it's 20 million people. China's overall ethnic minorities already number over 100 million people, another 20 million wouldn't change the over equation significantly. So, roughly would 1/3 of all Koreans would be Chinese citizens.

This would not be out of the ordinary. An example is Mongolia, there are more Mongolians living in China than in Mongolia. And there are more Tibetians living in China outside the Tibetian Autonomous Region (TAR) than living in the TAR.

So, for North Koreans to become a minority people group within China and an autonomous region would be a win win situation for everyone.
