South Park spoofed Scientology years ago as well so why didn't he quit then if that was the reason. Considering the literally heinous things they've said about nearly every organized religion in America, it would be hyocritical of him to help trash everybody else and then quit when his ox got gored. The episode they did on Scientology was meant to be pretty mean but so was the episode they did on Mormons, Catholic priests and I'm sure evangelics aren't thrilled with Jesus having a public access talk show and being ignored by everybody.
This evangelical thinks it's hilarious (in a tragic way) - very much a statement on the state of Christianity in this country.
I'm Christian and I didn't have a problem with it. Actually I sort of thought it was funny when they would call Jesus with a stupid question
Hayes tells the New York Post's Billy Heller that there will be no reunion and no return to the character of Chef on the cult hit tv show.
Well he can't really can he. I learned in SP that someone craps their pants 5 seconds after they die (according to Cartman ;)) and Chef did that. Especially after he was torn up at the bottom of the canyon. So Chef's dead. And really this past season was one of the funniest without Chef. The Nintendo Wii two parter was a riot
My wife and I are both devout Christians and find South Park to be one of the most generous shows to Christ on the air today. What they consistently attack is the hypocrisy displayed by organized religions and CINOs who look to milk the faithful of their money, and the ignorant faithful who do not question those who are milking them.
In fact, the Jesus portrayed on SP is one of the most sympathetic characters on the show.
Thats the reason he has a public access show on South Park. They are showing that he is being ignored and more attention should be paid to him.
