Tony Snow: Are War Critics in Congress Aiding Al-Qaeda?
Editor & Publisher ^ | Jan. 17, 2007 | E&P Staff

Posted on 01/17/2007 9:02:18 PM PST by FairOpinion

At his White House briefing today, Press Secretary Tony Snow faced a grilling over the Democrats' opposition to the president's troop escalation. He labeled Sen. Hillary Clinton's backing for a "cap" on troops in Iraq at the current 130,000 as "extreme."

But he also suggested that war opponents in congress need to consider what message they are sending in favoring a resolution or legislation that opposes the president's "surge"-- saying it was "worth asking" the question of whether they might sending a message to al-Qaeda. The implication was that their opposition could be seen as giving al-Qaeda a green light to expand their actions.

He raised the al-Qaeda issue again a little later. "It's probably worth asking," Snow said, "what message does Congress intend to give, and who does it think the audience is? Is the audience merely the President? Is it the voting American public? Or in an age of instant communication, is it also al Qaeda? Is it Iraq? Is it players in Iraq? Is it U.S. troops? Is it people in the Gulf who want to understand whether the United States is, in fact, a partner upon whom they can depend for security even in trying times?

"All those are questions that deserve to be raised. I don't think there are illegitimate questions. And all I'm saying is that those are things that members ought to take into consideration."

Precisely.

They are giving aid and comfort to the enemy and should be charged with treason.

There is in creation a Hall of Shame for those who will have been responsible for losing the war.

It will include almost all of the media, almost all of the Democrat party, many Republicans like Hagel, and most of the entertainment world.

They will never be held acountable. In fact, they will be honored for their treason and receive fame and fortune, like John Kerry, Jane Fonda, and Robert McNamara after Vietnam.

And they will guarantee that a lot of Americans, civilians, will die in hijackings, nuclear detonations, biological and chemical attacks, and suicide bombs.

Strange discuss between Snow and Helen Thomas. He tries to use the Civil War to make a point.

MR. SNOW: If you had asked in 1864 -- I'll go back to the Civil War -- the referendum would have failed and Abraham Lincoln would have failed.

Q How do you know that?

MR. SNOW: Go back and read, just a little history will tell you.

Q Who won the war?

MR. SNOW: You had Republican senators trooping up to the White House telling the President that he needed the cut a separate deal, that he needed to dispatch emissaries to speak with Jefferson Davis and his heirs and assigns.

This literally is treason, but no one can do anything about it since it is one of two major parties clamoring for our defeat.

Have they no shame?

Our twenty year old guys are being killed because this this stuff.

More important than the message being sent to al-Qaeda, what about the message being sent to the Iraqi on the street? He may want peace and a rule of law so bad he can taste it, but is he likely to help fight the terrorists if he thinks everyone who helped the US will be murdered, their families tortured and raped next year by the Iranian influenced government that will take over if we leave too soon?

Pres Secretary Tony Snow can't say it...

However...

By all rational metrics, Hillary hates America, and wants the United States to lose in Iraq.

I have been saying this for months. Perhaps I'm not quite as crazy as we thought.

They're reinforcements, not a surge...going in to support their Brothers in harms way... on the way to Victory...

Ergo, is Bush giving aid and comfort to ILLEGAL alien drug smugglers by allowing 2 border patrol agents to serve jail time?

Ditto, aiding and abetting the enemy in time of war, all for political positioning.

God Bless this President as he shoulders the burden of protecting those who spit on his honor and the honor of this nation.

Watched "The Passion" last night for the first time at home, having seen it when released in theaters. The parallels between those who sneered at and mocked Christ, particularly in Herod's court, and those who shriek like demons at everthing good and decent in and about our country, was chilling.

It is becoming clear to me that we are joined in the battle for civilization at it's most fundamental. The forces of good and evil are aligning themselves without regard to nationality. The global left, literally "anti-Christ" at its very core has engaged with any and all enemies of this country in what I am sure it views as a final assault to bring us down, along with all that we stand for.

Those who offer encouragement to the enemy, and have more compassion for the tyrant than the slave, while defending the guilty and murdering the innocent have no more right to call themselves Americans than Osama himself.

Whatever.

When Tony Snow asks the president for a pardon for the two border control agents who just had to go to prison, he can advise me on the other idiots in our government. Until then, this president is no better than them.

"If every one of us in returning to our Constituents were to report the objections he has had to it, and endeavor to gain partizans in support of them, we might prevent its being generally received, and thereby lose all the salutary effects & great advantages resulting naturally in our favor among foreign Nations as well as among ourselves, from our real or apparent unanimity."

Benjamin Franklin speech to the Convention prior to the signing of the final draft of the Constitution, September 17, 1787.

Telling the delegates your actions speak to foreign nations, and that division is seen as a weakness!

Rodhamster doesn't hate America. She is indifferent to America unless it can be her vehicle to power. She has no use for the military because she stupidly believes posturing is sufficient to win against Islamic radicalism when the democrats come to full rule over US. Her lack of understanding is what makes her and her party so damned dangerous. Her degenerate husband avoided confrontation in order tokeep democrat party favor on a high with the American people.

The democrats during the clinton years knew they were up against al qaeda and terrorism but chose to hide the truth from we the people in order to continue manipulating us. If this nation falters and falls it will be at the hands of democrat rule and their bastard sycophancy of the media that will accomplish it. But they will be in power at the end ...
