Good move, Rudy.
Make peace with Right to Lifers and 2nd amendment activists, and the nomination is yours.
To: narses
If Rudy renounced his liberalism and views on abortion, etc., he might have a chance. As it is now, he has no chance to get the nomination.
To: narses
BFD.
He can appoint anything that he likes ... it doesn't matter. I don't trust him. These election-eve conversions are just propaganda for the easily deceived. The real Giuliani is the proabortion gungrabbing socialist we've all come to know and loathe.

Excellent choices by Rudy. Let's wait and hear what his actual positions on the record are on all issues before making judgements.

More turd polishing. Giuliani can't disguise the fact that he's still a gun-grabbing, pro-gay, abortion supporting liberal.
RINOs sunk the last election. Wanna see 'em do it again?

Yeah, Rudy. I'm really convinced what a fine fan of right to life and the Constitution you are, just sign me up.
I'm so sick of this stuff.

Positioning. It's better to have a candidate who doesn't need to "position", who can sit squarely on his past record without extra explanation.

So. What.
All this means is that he's trying to fool Republicans into voting for him despite the fact that he's squarely in the DEMOCRAT camp on the abortion issue. If not worse.

As I've said before, I'm willing to consider Rudy if he makes some basic and genuine changes on his positions concerning abortion and the right to life. He made some extremist pro-abort statements earlier. Now he's going to have to indicate whether is is willing to really change on these issues.
Change is possible. It's too early to say much more about it, but window dressing isn't enough. It has to be real.

This isn't confronting the problem. It's hiring 1 pro lifer. Renouncing his pro abortion position and saying he was wrong after he saw what a disaster abortion is would confront the problem. Bring forth info on what abortion looks like.
To: narses
I don't know how well this will play in Iowa after Nussle lost the race for Gov. to the son of a Harkin clone, lost us both houses of the legislature with his dragging coat tails and also lost his his own House seat. I don't think the Nussle name is too popular anymore.
To: narses
Not impressed. Rudy is unelectable nationally and would be a disaster as the nominee. A third party would assuredly emerge to run to his right and not only would the GOP lose the presidency, we'd lose 30 House seats and a half-dozen Senate seats.
Just say "NO" to liberal Rudy.

Republicans haven't had a pro-abortion nominee since Gerald Ford in 1976. I didn't know that Ford was pro-abortion. Disgusting.
Let's keep the Republican record clean regarding this human rights issue.

This reminds me of Boston Legal. The lawyers have an opinion about every case, but they'd happily argue either side depending on which side is paying more.

Hey Rudy!! The least you can do is come out against partial-birth abortion and embryonic stem cell destruction.
