Boxer Should Be Ashamed of Herself ...(disgusting display of disrespect)
Human Events ^ | Jan 13, 2007 | Rebecca Hagelin

Barbara Boxer seems to have forgotten a great American tradition: The fact that we are a nation of unity and patriotism when it comes to supporting our troops. That’s why her attack on Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s patriotism is so outrageous.

When our country fights evil, our hearts and souls are engaged not because my son or daughter, or your children, or your neighbor's children fight for freedom; we unify over the fact that America's sons and daughters are fighting for freedom.

As the mother of three and the wife of a retired naval officer, it has never occurred to me that my single friends feel any less patriotic, any less of a loss when a warrior falls in battle, or that they feel any less pride over our men and women in uniform than do I.

Yes, some families suffer far more deeply than others—but for Barbara Boxer to imply that the single or the childless care less deeply about America and our future, or that they have any less voice than she does, reveals a level of arrogance and selfishness rarely seen even in the worst of political climates.

Barbara Boxer should be deeply ashamed of herself. The senator should immediately apologize to the U.S. Senate for representing her colleagues so poorly in an official hearing, to Secretary Rice for the disgusting display of disrespect, and to all Americans for insulting our collective patriotism.

She and the other "feminists" turned on the pitiful Packwood for his boorishness, when Packwood was accused of groping a subordinate. You didn't here a peep out of this hypocrite, and the rest of the NAGS, when Bill Clinton was acussed of rape and other sexual deviant acts.

"Boxer seems to have a vendetta against Condi."

Condi is a woman and an African American who isn't as stupid as Boxer. That Condi doesn't share Boxer's beliefs is what probably makes Boxer's skin crawl.

Barbara Boxer should be deeply ashamed of herself.

Yes, she should. But the cardinal characteristic of the New Left is Rage, and Senator Boxer has no less of it than any other radical leftist. She despises Secretary Rice, and any other architect of Imperialist Amerika, or whatever.

Everyone is reduced to victim status dependant on the largess of the self-appointed elite. Give soldiers their due as talented, experts committed to their jobs. They are not all burn victims. Many are distinguishing themselves and winning citations and promotions which will be the stepping stones of their careers. Those who give them no respect would bring them home to do what? sit around bases and play checkers?

She showed no respect for a Cabinet member of the USA. She deserves no respect from anyone. She should be censured by the Senate and required to aplogize. I don't see that happening.....

California should be ashamed for electing these horrid cretins.

Don't worry ... a lot of us are. The conservatives in central Calif are held hostage by the left coast liberals ... most of which are NOT native Californians

"Barbara Boxer should be deeply ashamed of herself."

Indeed. Yet we know she has no shame else she would have resigned long ago. Our folks in government need to be much harsher on these people. Maybe the pubbies need to establish a sarcasm academy?

Nor did Hagel, the DBM's favorite 'Republican Senator", which is at least factual, as opposed to "Republican Presidential Candidate" that is risible.

Who is more qualified to make decisions during a war, someone who is able, because they have no personal stake in what happens to the troops and can therefore make an objective and logical decision, or someone who has a child at risk and whose judgment is therefore clouded by their emotions?

Simple question of logic.

The entire senate has desended to levels previously unknown. They don't represent the American people, they are low class, rude, ignorant people who have bought their way into the system. They don't belong there.

Their constituency is their speacial interests. Not the citizens who voted to represent them.

Look at what concerns the Senate and press with the Senator Johnson situation. It is not that the citizens of South Dakota be represented. It is that the Democrats may lose power if he is deemed unable to serve.

Also, when I read Boxer's criticisms, I can only think of how shallow her thoughts must be.

The day you or anyone else can make Barbara Boxer feel ashamed about ANY of her behavior, I will petition for that day to become a permanent National holiday.

This woman is beyond shameless.

She pushed a relative to marry into the Clinton-Rodham family, to cement herself closer to the Clinton, IMO. She has the IQ of a ruptured duck. Her memory is non-existent, and she is one of the worst persons ever to appear in the Congress.

She is a perfect example of what is the worst Kalifornia has to offer. I am glad I have left that state, I will never move back.

well, let us not forget, during the "Monica Years" Boxer was related by marriage to Clinton. Can't remember exactly, but wasn't one of her daughters married to one of Hillary's brothers ? Hugh? I think I have a mental block against that whole eight years ... and a memory challenge in any case.

We should expect more of the same. One of the keys to a successful Hillary campaign over the coming 2 years will be to "preempt" (read: destroy) would-be competitors from within her own party, and also the likely Repub's.

Condi's said she's not interested in running for Pres., but she could change her mind. This might have been a warning shot across the bow. Also, Condi would make an ideal running mate for whomever gets the GOP nomination. Combine this with the Novak column from earlier this week, and Condi's got to seriously consider whether she wants to face the public scrutiny.

(That said, she's never shied away from any obstacle in her career & life. I don't expect things like this to slow her one bit!)

California should be ashamed for electing these horrid cretins.

Agreed. But shouldn't that comment be applied to the electorates of many states? The Senate etc. cannot be expected to be of a higher quality than the majority who send them to Washington, D.C.

IMHO, it always boils down to one explanation when trying to explain the actions of Leftists. Power in a democracy is always centered in the mob, the rabble that wants something for nothing. So, Rats usually don't need solutions, or decency for that matter, so long as they pander to the fat part of the bell curve.

When things become bad enough again, and they will, the morons who empower those politicians constantly yelling "I'm for the workin' folks" will see the light. Let us hope that it will not be too late. Sadly, there is no other way.

The truth of the Right's message, work hard and beware of the easiest paths etc., is at present too difficult for the majority to hear over the din of the Left's shouting about giving the little people a break.
